Metalcore fans have a new release to sink their
melodic, crunch craving, teeth into- Circle of Demons,
an appealing album that definitely was pressed in
the scope of digitalization being a good thing.
The title track is done in true grinding fashion,
hook-based growls and speed take center stage and
no flashy tricks just metal riffs and drums that bang-a
recipe that makes this opening track a pleasure to
any fan of the genre. Things do tend to spin into
a more experimental direction following the opener
with a lot of electronic elements, clean vocals, and
even a threat of a pop feel. At times criticism may
play high, however, metal core does seem to spread
into both directions as far as it wants--clean-crunchy
and AT ALL COST aren‘t afraid to exhibit this
form.
Despite the few odd placements and changes there is
some excellent riffing in tracks like “Get Down
for The Revolution.” This is also the best arrangement
and hook laddered song on the album. The nifty acoustic
guitar lead on “ Ride Through the Storm”
deserves mentioning it actually will shift the listeners
mood which is exactly the artists intent. This is
a group that needs to focus on the studio and what
works well..lose the emo and elctronic influence embrace
the guitar work and the hooks and skyrocket. Pick
it up and see the highpoints first hand there are
plenty.
