In this life or the next is well done, like a well
marbled t-bone steak with juices flowing. Tightly
composed, gut thumping bass, filled with hooks that
will have you cranking your stereo to 11 and beyond.
“Let Me In” features a good dose of well
placed samples and struck me as my second favorite
song. “Jigsaw” strikes me as being a bit
of a commentary on our countries debacle in the Middle
East. “Consider This a Warning” would
be my favorite track, it speaks to me, as it will
to anyone who has ever wanted to punch any one in
the face. (Or at the least give out a complementary
wedgie.)
Most of this album is as angry and bitter as the
coffee I was drinking while listening. The thing is,
you really don’t need this album and coffee
at the same time. Just pick one or the other, because
now I’m not sure if the ringing in my ears and
the tremors are from caffeine overdose or from rattling
my brain with this album.
“In This Life or the Next” features a
wide variety of song structure without straying from
their roots. Dark metallic music with gravel throated
vocal in the vein of the old Project 86 and/or early
Atreyu. Includes guest vocals from Give Up The Ghost,
Fall Out Boy, Freya and Earth Crisis.
