When Fishbone hit the scene there was nothing like them. Nothing. Their mix of punk, metal and funk had not been heard on this Earth, and the hard rock masses were blown away. The early nineties saw Fishbone's finest releases. Albums like "The Reality of My Surroundings" and "Give A Monkey A Brain and He'll Swear He's the Center of the Universe" were diverse, original, and rocked hard. Then Fishbone disappeared.

In 2007 the Bone is back, baby, and in a big way. "Still Stuck In Your Throat" delivers 12 tracks of funked up Fishbone frenzy. I've read reviews that say this isn't "The Reality of My Surroundings" Fishbone. Obviously. It's been sixteen years. Fishbone has grown, members have changed... Let's face it, none of us really want our favorite band to record the same album over and over. Does "Still Stuck In Your Throat" sound like Fishbone. It surely does. If anything Fishbone is more diverse and just as much fun than ever.

If you haven't heard Fishbone, imagine Prince fronting the Bad Brains. A perfect example of this is "Let Dem Ho's Fight". This track mixes a hardcore chorus with a funk verse that includes the best flute work since Prince's "Sexy M F". Tracks like this and "Frey'd F*ckin' Nerve Endingz" show Fishbone flexing some muscular hardcore chops. Place that against "We Just Lose Our Minds", an R&B ballad that shows how versatile Angelo Moore's voice is. "The Devil Made Me Do It" shows Fishbone as a prime ska band, and "Skank 'N Go Nuttz" is impossible to classify into any genre except perfect party music.

Fishbone has come back strong with "Still Stuck In Your Throat" serving up a buffet of sounds and styles that are a feast for the ears. The energy, soul and raw talent that is Fishbone has grown in intensity, and reaches a peak on this mind blowingly diverse release.

Key Tracks: "Skank 'N Go Nuttz", "We Just Lose Our Minds"
