KITTIE, THINE EYES BLEED, NIGHT OF DEMONS, AND ACACIA PAY TRIBUTE TO DAVE LANDER AT MEMORIAL SHOW
LONDON, Ontario – Kittie, Thine Eyes Bleed, Night of Demons, and a reunited
Acacia will pay tribute to Dave Lander – band manager, father, and friend who
passed away unexpectedly in August – on December 12 at Call the Office in
London, Ontario.
The evening with bring together and reunite the area’s most well-known bands in honor of the Lander, who played a role in each of their careers. Kittie is
fresh off a European and Russian tour, Thine Eyes Bleed will be appearing
playing for the first time after a one-year hiatus, Night of the Demons will
play after a two-year absence from the local music scene, and Acacia’s original members will once again join together for this special event.
Each band’s performance will express what words alone can not, but the bands’
members have commented on Lander and his personal impact on them:
JUSTIN WOLFE, SINGER ACACIA AND THINE EYES BLEED
I have to say, I would have never imagined I would be here writing this right
now. When Dave suddenly passed away this August he took a piece of my heart...to say the least. The Lander family is truly like no other; those of you who have had the privilege to spend time with the family and Dave know exactly what I am talking about. I have been a part of the extended family for about 8-9 years now, and after losing my father in 2003, Dave stepped in, was a father to me and treated me like a son, but he was also a friend...a friend that would always want you to be yourself and have a good time. From the early days of Acacia through the long tough years with Thine Eyes Bleed, Dave was the one person who always kept me fighting for my dreams. Dave as a manager had a magic about him that would allow him to see through the bullshit and always keep fighting to reach the top. It was never about him. It was always about us (the bands) and making sure that everyone else was taken care of and happy. From the steak and wine dinners to the backyard BBQs and the long road trips waiting for that cold beer, things will never be the same.
I expect to see everyone that shares any of these wonderful memories on December 12, as we (the bands, friends, family) have been working hard to make this a night to remember and celebrate the life of Dave Lander. I miss and love you, Dave... ‘I'll get the first beer, the rest are in the fridge.’What else is happening?’”
MORGAN AND MERCEDES LANDER, KITTIE
This is the hardest for us because not only was Dave our manager, he was also
our father. Through it all, he was there to ease our worry, lighten the load
and the situation, and make things work no matter what. He was the ‘every man,’taking on tasks from booking shows to loading the trailer. He did it all! And despite all the odds, he helped to make our dreams of being a successful band a reality. His dedication to the band and his family were something that no money could ever buy. He was a husband, father, manager, and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments on December 12 in true Dave Lander fashion; with a stiff drink and some loud music. Our Daddy would be proud!”
TANYA CANDLER, ORIGINAL KITTIE BASSIST
I feel so honored to be able to pay tribute to such a wonderful man, Dave
Lander, on the 12th of December. Dave would be overjoyed to see everyone
gathered together to celebrate his life. Dave was a father, husband, friend,
and mentor. He was a friend to everyone, and was the first person to lend a
kind ear, shoulder to cry on, or a helping hand. He would always greet you with a smile, steak, and a glass of homemade wine. I will miss our ‘Papa Kittie’ so much, but I know our love, warm memories, and music will travel to him, wherever he may be.”
TRISH DOAN, KITTIE BASSIST 2005–2007
Dave Lander touched the lives of all those who ever knew him. He brought out
the best in everyone with his tenacious high spirits and energy for life. I'm
grateful to have known him and could never thank him enough for all that he has done for me. Dave was like a surrogate father to me and I'm honored to be a part of this memorial show to pay tribute to his life. Steak and wine will
never be the same without you, Dave!”
TARA MCLEOD, GUITARIST FOR KITTIE
I'm very excited for the homecoming show on December 12th. It's going to be a
celebration of the life of Dave Lander. I feel privileged to have become so
close to him and to have been treated as one of his children. Anyone who had
the opportunity to get to know Dave knows that his goal was for everyone to
enjoy themselves no matter what. This is our chance to tip our hats to him and
say thank him for everything. We love and miss him.”
IVY VUJIC, BASSIST FOR KITTIE
It upsets me and frustrates me to think that Dave Lander will not be physically standing by our side on December 12th...to talk to us, help us, cheer us on, ease our anxiety, lighten up the mood, and make sure that everyone is having a good time as he has always done in the past... Dad, friend, advisor, supporter...he took me in as part of his family and was always there, no questions asked. I know that he is in all of our hearts and will be mingling in the crowd in spirit. So on December 12th we will raise our glasses and give Dave a big ‘Cheers’ and ‘Thank You’ and we will celebrate and rejoice how lucky we are to have been graced with such an incredible person in our lives!”
JEFF PHILLIPS, GUITARIST, THINE EYES BLEED, GUITARIST KITTIE, 2001-2004
I was crushed to find out of the passing of David Lander. I have known him and his family for about 10 years. I am a better person for having had such a close relationship with him. It is an honor to play in his memory on December
12. All the bands playing were not only managed by him, but were encouraged,
supported, and loved. I, for one, would never have had the opportunity to see
my dreams come to fruition had it not been for him. I miss ya, Dave.”

Daylight Dies to join Soilwork for shows in early January
Daylight Dies will join Soilwork and Darkane for the start of their upcoming US tour beginning January 30 in Rochester, New York. Continuing to support their latest record, Lost to the Living, Daylight Dies were selected to replace Warbringer who are unable to start the tour due to extended recording obligations. "We are all ecstatic about the opportunity to tour with three bands we are huge fans of," says bassist Egan O'Rourke. "We have been cranking Soilwork in the van since our first tour so it will be a true honor to get to share stages with them."
Released June 24, Lost to the Living is the North Carolina-based band's second album for Candlelight Records. Mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia) and featuring artwork from Travis Smith (Amon Amarth, Paradise Lost), the album features nine new songs. "We were extremely pleased to see the glowing response to Lost to the Living from the media," notes drummer Jesse Haff. "It's especially rewarding to see the continued love from fans towards this album."
Formed in 1996, Daylight Dies released their debut, No Reply (Relapse) in 2002. Terrorizer Magazine called the album "memorable and engaging." Outburn Magazine proclaimed it "pristine doom metal," while Digital Metal found it to be "a combination of dark melody and deathly aggression." The quintet would tour Europe with Katatonia and perform with Lacuna Coil throughout the US and Canada before writing processes would begin on new material. Their second album, the impressive Dismantling Devotion, was released in March of 2006. Revolver Magazine called it "an epic slab of gloom metal that's equal parts apocalyptic rage and suicidal sorrow." Terrorizer Magazine again applauded the band noting the album as "an epic journey as thoughtful and compellingly musical as it is bleak and vengeful... essential." Another US tour, this time with Moonspell and friends Katatonia, completed 2006 on an all-time high. Outside of a few local performances the five-piece spent much of 2007 crafting the material that finds itself on Lost for the Living. The band toured with Candlemass just prior to the release of Lost for the Living.
Daylight Dies, featuring vocalist Nathan Ellis, guitarist Barre Gambling, guitarist Charley Shackelford, with O'Rourke and Haff, have consistently impressed fans and critics alike. Not only popular with mainstream print outlets worldwide (Lost to the Living again receiving high praise from the most important metal publications around the globe), the band have found an active online support network. Popular metal portal Metalsucks.net says, "with Lost to the Living we get what could very well become the band's masterwork." Hardcore Sounds says, "Daylight Dies has created a solid piece of metal that is unbelievably solid from start to finish." The band have active fan pages via MySpace, Facebook, are growing in popularity via LastFM.com and many more.

Speed Metal Drummer Richard Christy stars in series for Howard TV On Demand
HOWARD STERN SHOW REGULARS GET A TASTE OF LIFE ON A FARM WHEN STAFF MEMBER RICHARD CHRISTY TAKES THEM TO HIS FAMILY FARM IN RURAL KANSAS,FOR AN OUTRAGEOUS NEW HOWARD TV ON DEMAND ORIGINAL SERIES
WACK PACK AT THE CHRISTY'S FARM
New York, Nov. 20 - Richard Christy's "bucolic" family farm in Kansas may never be the same. Howard Stern on-air personality and former heavy metal speed drummer Richard Christy (Death, Iced Earth and Control Denied) takes a couple of infamous Stern Wack-Packers and a porn star to live on his family farm in Fort Scott, Kansas. His parents (and the animals around the farm) are in for quite a shock. Wack Pack at the Christy's Farm, is an original series on Howard TV On Demand in November and December 2008. Howard TV can be found in the On Demand offerings of most cable systems nationally.
Joining Richard are his outrageous and sexy friends; Yucko the Clown (a little racist), Gary the Retard (a little slow) and special guest porn star Gina Lynn (topless a lot!). Upon arriving at his boyhood home, Richard's parents, farmers Pat and Tom Christy, meet his unusual companions. The guests are immediately changed into overalls, and Mr. Christy assigns them chores like painting and cleaning the chicken coop; milking cows and washing his truck, all of which are quite challenging to this crew. These fish out-of-water attempt to learn line dancing, go camping, boating, fishing, horseback riding, tractor riding and are ultimately relegated to sleeping in a shanty barn. They are out of control, out of their element and outrageous. The groups get a bit tense and some fights ensue along with run-ins with manure, and many other touching and off-color moments.
Howard TV On Demand has added some new interactive elements to accompany the series. Viewers will have the opportunity to win autographed props and wardrobe elements used during the filming of Wack Pack at the Christy's Farm by going to www.howardtv.com and answering questions based on events from each episode. Naughty E-Cards and audio messages from cast members can be emailed to friends as well.

DIR EN GREY's Uroboros Debuts at #1 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers Chart!
Released last Tuesday, November 11th, DIR EN GREY's seventh studio album, UROBOROS, debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart, selling more than 6,000 units in the first week.
"[Uroboros features] muscular funk licks, soaring power-ballad melodies, and creepy atmospherics; moments that have the slow intensity of a dirge, and others that rush with the hell-bent-for-leather abandon of classic metal," said REVOLVER's JD Considine in a four-star review of the album. "Most amazing of all, [Dir en grey] manages to do all this while maintaining such a strong sense of structure that the album almost feels like one continuous song."
In an effort to satiate fans' unique preferences and desires, UROBOROS was released through eclectic Brooklyn-based label THE END RECORDS who have created four distinctive formats and variables: deluxe limited-edition CD digipak with bonus tracks and a DVD; CD jewel case; digitally; and as double vinyl LP with a digital download card included. The album hit shelves on 11/12 in Japan through Firewall; and 11/14 in Europe through Gan-Shin.
The album's release comes in the midst of a 22-date North American headlining tour with The Human Abstract. "You can detect elements of Korn, Slipknot, Deftones, even Nine Inch Nails in the quintet's masterfully dynamic 20-song set," said Kerrang! Magazine last week, "but the jarring Japanese melodies and frontman Kyo's intensely physical, mesmerizing performance serve to unsettle throughout."
Somehow amidst constant touring, the band produces many artful music videos as evidenced recently on Headbangers Blog. MTV's premier metal show debuted the band's new video for "DOZING GREEN," the twelfth track on UROBOROS. The video was directed by the band’s longtime collaborator Hiroyuki Kondo and took two and a half months to create from filming to post-production. Check out the video at Headbangers Blog via the link below, or on MTV2 at 2am on Saturday, November 22nd.

THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS READY SOPHOMORE ALBUM, LONELY ROAD, FEB. 3
New release is follow-up to platinum-selling debut, Don’t You Fake It, with new single, “You Better Pray” out now
NEW YORK, N.Y.—Virgin Records Jacksonville, FL, platinum rockers THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS have completed recording their sophomore album, LONELY ROAD, at the Valley Village, CA, studio of super-producer Howard Benson (Hoobastank, P.O.D., Less Than Jake, Daughtry, Seether, All-American Rejects), the follow-up to the DON’T YOU FAKE IT. Their debut breakthrough was two years in the making, a tribute to the label’s commitment to long-term artist development, and has gone on to sell more than 2.1 million singles and scan over a million copies in the U.S. to date.
The new album, LONELY ROAD, streets on Feb. 3, 2009, and is preceded digitally by the current hit track, “You Better Pray,” as well as a fan’s only studio demo for “Pen & Paper,” available at the band’s RedJumpSuitAlliance.com website, and now on MySpace. To mark the release, RJA will embark on a headlining, international tour, starting Dec. 6 at the 97X Next Big Thing 8 in Tampa, FL, then heading to a number of South East Asian countries in late February and March including Australian dates in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
“We’re really psyched about these tracks and the new record and hope you are, too,” proclaims lead vocalist Ronnie Winter on the band’s MySpace page. “Just like DON’T YOU FAKE IT, you can be sure LONELY ROAD will tie together these and a bunch of other sounds in a classic, but new-and-improved RJA-sounding way.”
Consisting of Winter, guitarist/pianist/singer Duke Kitchens, bass/singer Joey Westwood and drummer/singer Jon Wilkes, RJA connected immediately with listeners on their first single, “Face Down,” a plea against domestic violence that introduced a band with a commitment to social issues, not just in their music, but in their day-to-day lives.
DON’T YOU FAKE IT charted for 62 weeks on Billboard’s Top 200 while “Face Down” stayed atop the Top 20 Modern Rock airplay list for 52 weeks before being retired. “Face Down” earned the band platinum status by selling 1.5 million digital singles and has been streamed over 16.6 million times on MySpace. Songs from the first album have been streamed more than 50 million times on the band’s MySpace page, along with such favorites as “Your Guardian Angel,” which generated 10.2 million MySpace spins and 455k downloads, as well as marking the festive occasions of thousands of Facebook and YouTube photo flipbooks and videos. Two other songs from their debut, “Damn Regret” and “False Pretense,” are both at almost 100,000 downloads apiece.
Since the release of DON’T YOU FAKE IT, RJA has also been an active force for a wide array of charitable organizations and social causes, including teen suicide prevention (including co-headlining the US Take Action Tour with My Chemical Romance and Rise Against), mental health parity and a strong commitment to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, teaming up with their label Virgin Records, to raise funds.
In addition, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Guardian Angel Foundation has been formed as an umbrella group to support under-funded high school band programs, to promote and enhance student musical development; support individuals affected by domestic violence, to break the cycle of abuse; and contribute to research that focuses on management of acute hyperglycemia in hospitalized patients.
“We’re looking forward to finally getting the new record out and once again hitting the road,” writes Winter on the band’s MySpace blog. “And as you’ll soon hear, it was all worth it.”

PSYCROPTIC's 'Ob(Servant)' Lands On Australia's AIR Chart!
"Ob(Servant)", the fourth album from Tasmanian tech-death masters PSYCROPTIC, has entered the AIR chart (Australian Independent Recordings) at position No. 7.
The AIR charts are compiled by AIR from sales rankings supplied by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).
Titles are eligible to be included in the AIR charts survey if:
* The artists are Australian;
* The title is released on an independent label or self-released;
* Where it is either distributed through an independent distributor or where an independent label uses the services of a major or its subsidiary to distribute the title
Commented PSYCROPTIC drummer Dave Haley, "I just heard that our new album 'Ob(servant)' hit number #7 on the AIR charts out here in Australia. I actually had to have a bit of a giggle about that — a death metal album filled with blast beats and growling vocals sitting next to a lot of pop and rap stuff. It's great indication of the state of extreme metal at the moment — it has a growing and dedicated following... good times to be a metal band!"
"Ob(Servant)" was released in North America on October 14 via Nuclear Blast Records, following their appearance as part of this years SUMMER SLAUGHTER tour installment, which included THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and KATAKLYSM among others. The follow-up to 2006's "Symbols of Failure" was mixed and mastered by former MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader (DIVINE HERESY, GOJIRA) and was recorded once again by guitarist Joe Haley. The album includes a free bonus DVD featuring a studio diary as well as performance footage from a 2006 gig in Amsterdam, Netherlands and 2008 concert in Wellington, New Zealand. The free bonus DVD runs approximately 85 minutes.
PSYCROPTIC's third full-length album, "Symbols of Failure", was released in February 2006 via Neurotic Records. The follow-up of 2003's "The Scepter of the Ancients" marked the recording debut of vocalist Jason Peppiatt.

Norway’s ENSLAVED recently traveled to Gothenburg, Sweden to work with Revolver Film Company director and Norwegian Grammy Award winner Patric Ullaeus (Dimmu Borgir, Keep Of Kalessin, In Flames) to shoot a video for “The Watcher,” a track off their recently Billboard-charting album, Vertebrae.
ENSLAVED share their thoughts about working with Ullaeus and the video itself:
“When we got the chance to work with Patric and Revolver, we grasped it with all ten hands. His works are very impressive. We were first exposed to him through Dimmu’s latest video - the whole thing was very professional and remained ‘tasty’ within the fantasy framework. Our previous videos have been do-it-yourself and we have never worked with special effects on such a high level before. The video is built upon a dual development: the band performing the song in parallel with a story line. The story is based upon [lead singer/bassist] Grutle’s lyrics for ‘The Watcher’ and the story is written out in a co-operation between Grutle & [guitarist/songwriter] Ivar [Bjørnson] from the band, and director Patric Ullaeus. Without spoiling the surprise, the video story follows the lines of the lyrics – the individual’s struggle for truth and liberation, about revealing the real chains of existence and breaking them.”
Attached, exclusive photos of the video shoot were taken by photographer Tonje E. Peersen.
ENSLAVED will be on tour through North America in 2009 with Finland’s Swallow The Sun and fellow countrymen Keep Of Kalessin. Confirmed tour dates are below.
Advanced tickets are on sale now exclusively through EnterTheVault.com until November 26th. On November 27th, tickets will go on sale through normal ticketing outlets.

As Tall As Lions New Album Update...
After a long writing process, New York's As Tall As Lions are ready to enter the studio to begin work on "You Can't Take It With You," their third full length album. With producer Adam Lasus (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Yo La Tengo) on board, vocalist Dan Nigro says, "we've finally found a producer who matches our ambition for making this record." "You Can't Take It With You" is due out early summer 2009.
"You Can't Take It With You" is the follow up to 2006's breakthrough self-titled record. As Tall As Lions also released the "Into The Flood" EP last November.
"Catchy tracks like 'Love, Love, Love (Love Love)' and 'Milk & Honey' show off vocalist Daniel Nigro's unbridled Jeff Buckley-esque range while 'Ghosts Of York' and 'Be Here Now' hit a more mainstream mark with conviction and clarity of an act twice their senior." – Alternative Press, 5 out of 5
"{On As Tall As Lions} the band sounds huge – loads of minute sonic detail and layers of overdubs creates a rich tapestry of sounds…" Pitchfork

at 2008 mtvU Woodie Awards - THE SHOW WHERE FANS VOTE AND SELECT THEIR WINNER
Motion City Soundtrack's music video for the hit single "It Had To Be You" Wins the Best Video Woodie at the 2008 mtvU Woodie Awards, the show where fans vote and pick the winner in each category !!! Directed by Lauren Simpson, the video won over other nominees in the category, including Gnarls Barkley ("Who's Gonna Save My Soul"), Erykah Badu ("Honey"), Vampire Weekend ("Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa"), and Adele ("Chasing Pavements").
The track was recorded for Motion City Soundtrack's critically acclaimed latest release, Even If It Kills Me (Epitaph) which SPIN deemed a "…set of near-perfect pop." This marks the bands second time winning a Woodie, their first being 2005's Breaking Woodie (Best New Artist) for "Everything is Alright" (off of their second album, Commit This To Memory).
Motion City Soundtrack is far from slowing down anytime soon – the video for "Fell In Love Without You" has been added into rotation on mtvU, and the group just wrapped up fifteen (15) months of international touring in support of Even If It Kills Me. They are now looking to record their fourth LP during winter of 2009.

TOOTH & NAIL RECORDS FULFILLS WISH FOR ASPIRING MUSICIAN
T&N / Solid State Records' UNDERØATH Plays a Role in Wish Granted
Seattle, WA...November 12, 2008...Jonathan Stewart, an aspiring musician, was granted a wish of a lifetime on Monday, November 10 with the cooperation of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® and Tooth & Nail Records. Stewart's wish included spending time with the rock niche label Tooth & Nail Records and attending UNDERØATH's sold-out concert at Seattle's Showbox as a VIP guest.
Stewart was referred to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® for a wish as he dealt with osteosarcoma, a malignant form of bone cancer. He finally was able to travel to Seattle for his long-awaited wish. Requesting to have Tooth & Nail Records as part of his wish was easy for Stewart.
"I chose Tooth & Nail because they fit my style of music and beliefs, and they produce some of my favorite bands," he said. "Ultimately, I would like to be signed by them or a company like them."
His Make-A-Wish day included visiting the label office, touring Compound Studios with producer Aaron Sprinkle (Copeland, MxPx, Hawk Nelson), members of UNDERØATH and Randy Torres of Project 86 as well as hanging with the members of Demon Hunter. As another fun-filled surprise, Stewart was presented custom UNDERØATH soda bottles from Jason Hockney of Jones Soda. Stewart also enjoyed dinner with UNDERØATH and the label.
"We are honored that John would choose Tooth & Nail and UNDERØATH for his wish," shares label president Brandon Ebel. "It was a very special day for our staff and the band. John and his family are very humble, down to earth people. He listened to brand new mixes from MxPx, played the video game Rock Band with UNDERØATH, recorded a podcast with myself and The Almost, and was there when UNDERØATH was presented their new box sets. John and his family will be in our prayers."
Expounding on being a part of Stewart's wish, Chris Dudley (keyboards/samples) of UNDERØATH stated, "Hanging out with John was awesome. We took him on a tour of our record label, then we went to a recording studio and we actually recorded a song with him. He played guitar, his brother played drums, I sang, Spencer played guitar. It was one of our favorite days on tour, just because it's crazy for us to think that someone who is hooked up with Make-A-Wish would have their wish to be able to hang out with us for the day."
Executives from Cold Stone Creamery, one of the Make-A-Wish Foundation's sponsors, also took part in the wish as part of their 16-city tour visiting various franchises and supporting the foundation's wish-granting efforts. Stewart and the members of UNDERØATH sampled ice cream on Cold Stone's tour bus after dinner.

DIR EN GREY's Highly-Anticipated Seventh Studio Effort, 'Uroboros', Is Out Today In North America!
Japanese rock band DIR EN GREY released their seventh studio album, UROBOROS, today in the North America. In an effort to satiate fans' unique preferences and desires, UROBOROS was released through eclectic Brooklyn-based label THE END RECORDS who have created four distinctive formats and variables: deluxe limited-edition CD digipak with bonus tracks and a DVD; CD jewel case; digitally; and as double vinyl LP with a digital download card included;. The album hits shelves on 11/12 in Japan through Firewall; and 11/14 in Europe through Gan-Shin.
The album's release comes just as the band prepares for the soon-to-be-sold-out show Friday, November 14th at Terminal 5 in New York City -- the seventh stop on their critically acclaimed North American tour with The Human Abstract. "You can detect elements of Korn, Slipknot, Deftones, even Nine Inch Nails in the quintet's masterfully dynamic 20-song set," said Kerrang! Magazine in a KKKKK review this week, "but the jarring Japanese melodies and frontman Kyo's intensely physical, mesmerizing performance serve to unsettle throughout."
Somehow amidst constant touring, the band produces many artful music videos as evidenced last week on Headbangers Blog. MTV's premier metal show debuted the band's new video for "DOZING GREEN," the twelfth track on UROBOROS. The video was directed by the band’s longtime collaborator Hiroyuki Kondo and took two and a half months to create from filming to post-production. Check out the video at Headbangers Blog via the link below, or on MTV2 at 2am on Saturday, November 15th.

Satan - re-issue of the debut album coming out soon!
Satan is one of the most important groups that emerged in the early NWOBHM era. Their unique mixture of heavy and power metal spirit with thrash riffage brought a handful of unforgettable tunes and revolutionized heavy music as we know it. “Court in the Act” is their debut release and in the same time their highlight. Ten tracks (including the intro) and over 40 minutes of music that was absolutely groundbreaking for a 1983 release. Satan managed to come up with a sound that was way ahead of their own time. The songs were melodic, but in the same time very aggressive – a sign of an upcoming revolution. Both guitarists, Russ Tippins and Steve Ramsey, delivered a truly amazing performance – although their styles were completely different, the duo managed to perfectly balance their playing and introduce a handful of timeless riffs and solos. The best example of the band’s impressive guitar virtuosity can be heard in the sharp and heavy tune “Break Free”, which features a dazzling 3-minute solo. Other highlights include the intensive “No Turning Back”, the atmospheric “Alone in the Docks” and the epic instrumental track “Ritual”.
“Court in the Act” remains one of Satan’s best releases, as well as one of the most unappreciated – even though the album hit the stores immediately before the thrash metal explosion, being somewhat a pioneer on the scene, it failed to gain the proper popularity it deserved. Most critics claim that this LP was just a bit too much for the average listener in 1983, when even such bands as Judas Priest and Iron Maiden played music nowhere near as dynamic and aggressive as Satan.
Now, thanks to this exclusive re-edition of “Court in the Act”, you can once again experience one of the best releases in the history of metal! After 25 years, this album still possesses the same force it had on the day of its premiere – a force that cannot be denied… New digipack edition includes 3 bonus tracks. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc, limited to numerated 1000 copies. Metal Mind Productions will release the album on 24th November in Europe and 20th January 2009 in USA (via MVD).

Cradle of Filth Virtual Vinyl
Cradle of Filth's latest album, Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder, hailed by Metal Maniacs as "some of the heaviest music ever to spawn forth from their blackened souls," landed in stores recently and notched the number 48 slot on the Billboard Top 200 chart, the highest chart debut in their storied career.
The band will start 2009 off with a bang, as well, spreading their black metal seed across the U.S. in January, when they return for a headline tour with Satyricon and Septic Flesh in tow.
Additionally, the band invites fans to remember the good old days of vinyl, when you'd listen to a new album released by one of your metal heroes while spending countless hours leafing through the gatefold sleeve, enjoying the artwork and pouring through the lyrics while immersing yourself in the whole album experience. Ahh, memories! Maybe you are too young to have had such an experience. Perhaps not. Regardless, take our word for it: that was how an album was meant to be enjoyed. Nowadays, releases with many sonic layers are referred to as "headphone records," while during the vinyl days, headphones weren't quite so necessary in order to pick up the nuances of sound.
While the onset of digital music and the changing ways in which consumers interact with musical products has made such an engagement more difficult, the always forward-thinking black metal masters Cradle of Filth have come up with an ingenious way to replicate some of that lost magic via 'Virtual Vinyl,' which enhances the listening experience through better visuals, access to lyrics (if you can find the embedded Easter Eggs) and has a unique way of capturing the macabre, menacing essence of their latest wickedly delightful effort, Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder. The 'Virtual Vinyl' also allows the album's stunning, bold and uniquely Cradle'esque artwork to take center stage, as well.
Check it out now at: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/cradleoffilth/virtualvinyl/. Go ahead. We dare you. You can tell us what you think of the new Cradle album when visiting www.roadrunnerrecords.com/cradleoffilth/godspeed.

The song has reached #5 at Active Rock and #25 at Modern Rock, according to BDS. Meanwhile, fans can tune into the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" Monday, November 10 to hear a live interview with MUDVAYNE (check local listings for air times).
In video news, the clip for "Do You What You Do" will officially world premiere today on MTV2's "Unleashed" and will air on the channel all day as well as on MTV2.COM. Directed by Frankie Nasso, the video has now been added to Fuse's #1 Rock Countdown.
THE NEW GAME is an electrical storm of musical fury, a lesson in controlled chaos that tempers hard rock, heavy metal, prog rock and sadistic splatters of melody into an onslaught of metallic highs and emotional lows, rushing surges and pronounced blows. The album ups the ante for Mudvayne, one of the most creative and distinctive bands in the aggressive music world with sales exceeding 5 million units worldwide. The band--CHAD GRAY (vocals), GREG TRIBBETT (guitars), RYAN MARTINIE (bass) and MATT MCDONOUGH (drums)--produced THE NEW GAME with Dave Fortman (Evanescence), capturing the wily charisma and hyper-kinetic energy of a band who survived their seven-year itch by embedding their claws into the heart of their music.

NORWAY’S ENSLAVED LAND ON BILLBOARD CHART; COMMENT ON 2009 TOUR
Selling over 1,100 copies of their latest album Vertebrae since it’s October 28th release, Norway’s ENSLAVED have landed on the American Billboard Hard Music chart at #11 and the Heatseekers chart at #49.
ENSLAVED guitarist and founding member Ivar Bjørnson shares his thoughts on this accomplishment and the upcoming 2009 North American tour:
“We were on the first day of our European tour in Copenhagen when we got the update from the U.S. on the Vertebrae release. We’ve been told the first sales figures are very good! We are very grateful for the reception Vertebrae has received in America; and now to see the first-week sales being doubled compared to those of Ruun is nothing short of amazing. We wish to thank the fans for backing the release, the media for the in-depth reviews and features, and everybody at Nuclear Blast for getting 100% behind ENSLAVED on this release.”
“The new songs sound like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and we can’t wait to take this album on the road – luckily the wait is over! The confirmation of the North American dates in May 2009 is the best news we could get. The two tours over there in 2007 were fantastic; the response was overwhelming and we got to meet and know so many dedicated fans and followers of ENSLAVED all over North America. Going back now, with the massive welcome Vertebrae has received, is something we can’t wait to do. Having Swallow the Sun and Keep Of Kalessin as support is absolutely great. We can’t wait!”
Confirmed North American tour dates are below. Advanced tickets are on sale now exclusively through EnterTheVault.com until November 26th. On November 27th, tickets will go on sale through normal ticketing outlets.
Recorded in the first quarter of 2008, mixed by “Evil” Joe Barresi (Tool, Queens of the Stone Age) at TNT’s personal studio in Norway, and mastered by the legendary George Marino (Metallica, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin) at Sterling Sound, Vertebrae was produced by Ivar Bjørnson, Herbrand Larsen, and Grutle Kjellson themselves. Considered by all band members to be their strongest material in the seventeen years of their existence (this is their third studio album with the exact same line-up), Vertebrae’s elegant music, epic lyrics, gallant vocals, and hypnotic guitar tone – combined with ambient atmospherics and seasoned, soul-travelling guitar solos - marks a crowning achievement for ENSLAVED as musicians and as a contribution to their musical genre as a whole.

Pendulum to Make National Late Night TV Debut Tonight, November 10th on Last Call with Carson Daly
Kicking-off Carson's new POV Series
Pendulum will make their national late night TV debut tonight, November 10th on Last Call with Carson Daly. This will be a first in more than one way as the show will be airing a live performance of the band's single "Propane Nightmares" shot at one of their recent sold out US tour dates. Apparently Carson Daly is a big fan of the band and when he found out that the show was dark while they were in LA, he decided to do something unprecedented…
We're starting a new series on the show called POV where instead of bringing a band to the studio, we send a team of shooters to a show and capture a band in their live environment from a fan's point of view. I kept hearing from friends about Pendulum's incredible live shows during this past summer's European festivals and when our schedules didn't work out for them to appear live in our studio, I figured they'd be the perfect band to kick off the POV series. – Carson Daly
In addition, their first US single "Propane Nightmares" is on its way to charting in the US as the commercial radio story not only builds, but takes off. "Propane Nightmares" has already hit the Furious 5 @ 9 at KROQ after less than two weeks and is also getting great reaction at KNDD – Seattle. The momentum from the stations that added the song first has brought on board a slew of new stations including new adds at WFNX in Boston, KRBZ in Kansas City, and new airplay at WRFF Philadelphia, 91X San Diego, and more…
This national late night TV debut and the radio story come on the heels of Pendulum's incredibly successful first ever tour of the Americas. The band just completed a 15 date headlining tour or the Americas which included sold out shows at the Middle East Downstairs in Boston (650), Kool Haus in Toronto (1750), Bluebird Theatre in Denver (600), The Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles (1300 people on a Monday) and Webster Hall in New York (1400). It was evident that fans had been anticipating this US tour since their first taste of the band live at Coachella 2008 and news of their overseas success had been flooding in over the past several months.
Pendulum continues to surpass all expectations with their incredible live show and undeniable talent. The band is currently on a headlining tour of Europe, then off to the UK, Australia and Japan before heading back to the US.
Don't forget to check out Pendulum TONIGHT on Last Call with Carson Daly and stay tuned for US dates in Spring 2009.

Irish Rock Band THE ANSWER To Perform At NYC’s Union Square Virgin Megastore On November 11 In Support Of Their Debut U.S. Release, The EP/DVD Never Too Late
The Band Is The Opener On AC/DC’s Black Ice Tour, Playing Madison Square Garden Nov. 12 & 13
THE ANSWER, a four-piece rock band from Northern Ireland now touring as the opening act on AC/DC’s Black Ice World Tour, will make an in-store appearance at the Union Square Virgin Megastore in New York City on Tuesday, November 11 at 7PM. The event is in support of that day’s release of their debut North American title Never Too Late, a limited-edition two-disc set that bundles a four-song EP and a bonus DVD featuring previously unreleased footage.
THE ANSWER will play a short set and sign copies of Never Too Late for fans during the November 11 in-store. Everyone who attends their Virgin Megastore (52 East 14th Street, NYC, NY, 10003) performance that evening will be entered into a prize drawing to win a pair of tickets to see THE ANSWER perform as support act for AC/DC at one of their Madison Square Garden concerts on November 12 and 13. The AC/DC tour represents THE ANSWER’s debut tour of America. Just prior to the tour’s two-night stand at Chicago’s Allstate Arena last week, the Daily Herald noted about THE ANSWER that, “The quartet has turned a lot of heads around the globe, as leathery Brits Jimmy Page, Joe Elliott and David Coverdale have all praised their authentic retro stomp.”
Recently included on Rolling Stone’s “Hot List,” THE ANSWER is made up of Cormac Neeson (lead vocals), Paul Mahon (guitar), Micky Waters (bass) and James Heatley (drums). In Europe and the U.K. – where their major awards include Best New UK Band at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards – they’ve opened shows for the Rolling Stones, the Who, Aerosmith and other legendary acts. THE ANSWER has also headlined tours in the U.K., Europe, Japan and Australia, where their first album Rise won significant critical and popular acclaim.
Never Too Late comes out on independent label THE END RECORDS with distribution through Sony RED. To be released exclusively in North America, the set’s four-song EP opens with the title track, a song originally from Rise that’s also featured on Activision’s just-released Guitar Hero®: World Tour. Another track, “Highwater Or Hell,” previews the band’s forthcoming North American debut album, Everyday Demons. Produced by John Travis (Kid Rock, Static-X, etc.) and mixed by Tim Palmer and Mike Fraser (who recently mixed AC/DC’s Black Ice), the album will be released February 16, 2009. Never Too Late’s DVD bonus disc has interviews with the band, live footage from Japan, on-the-road footage from the U.K. and five videos made to support Rise.
In a review of Never Too Late on blogcritics.org, author Jeff Perkins wrote, “In true rock tradition, The Answer have worked their way from blowing the froth off your beer in small seedy pubs to the Madison Square Garden. With rock like this they deserve every moment of it. It’s not often bands of this calibre come along.”

Satellite - new album in 2009
Progressive rock band Satellite revealed the title of their forthcoming album. “Nostalgia”, the follow up to the highly acclaimed album “Into The Night”, will be released by Metal Mind Productions in mid March 2009. Once again, Wojtek Szadkowski and his colleagues from the legendary neo-prog-rock Collage create a genuine musical masterpiece of space, melody and beautiful sounds. More details on the new record will follow as the recording process progresses.
Satellite was founded in 2000 by Wojtek Szadkowski, who wrote and co-wrote nearly all of Collage's music and lyrics. It was meant to be only Wojtek's solo-project but soon became a real band. EQUAL VISION RECORDS SIGNS CLOSURE IN MOSCOW
RECORDING DEBUT FULL LENGTH WITH PRODUCER KRIS CRUMMETT FOR 2009 RELEASE
ENTIRE RELOCATION FROM AUSTRALIA TO U.S.& RECORDING PROCESS TO BE FILMED
FOR WEB SERIES AND FULL LENGTH DOCUMENTARY
NOV 6 - Equal Vision Records is proud to announce the signing of Melbourne, Australia's CLOSURE IN MOSCOW. The band - vocalist Chris DeCinque, guitarist/vocalist Mansur Zennelli, guitarist Michael Barrett, bassist Brad Kimber, and drummer Beau Fair - will be permanently relocating to the U.S. at the top of 2009 and heading straight into the studio with producer Kris Crummett (Dance Gavin Dance, Anatomy Of A Ghost, Fear Before The March of Flames) who also recorded their debut EP, The Penance And The Patience. The band will hit the road permanently upon completion of their debut LP in February.
The EP (or "albumette" as the band has been known to call it) was released this past April in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan via Taperjean Records and debuted at #13 on the Australian Independent Records charts. In January, CLOSURE IN MOSCOW joined Coheed And Cambria for a national tour to overwhelming fan response. The five-piece will shortly be doing the same with Scary Kids Scaring Kids this month before making their move to the U.S.
The band has already begun work on their debut full length, set for a Spring 2009 release. "We're writing at a secluded location in the bush which has made it so easy to focus on the songs", says Barrett. "We've taken massive steps in our song writing ability. The new songs each have their own distinct character but all live under the 'Closure roof'." The entire writing process, as well as the band's relocation from Australia to the US, will be filmed for a web series and full length documentary.
Although it was previously announced that CLOSURE IN MOSCOW had signed with Science Records, the band stated that "after much deliberation, we mutually felt it would be best not to move forward with our relationship." Kimber adds, "[EVR] has always been a dream label for us. They have an amazing roster - past and present - full of bands that have made an impact: Now it's the Aussies turn!"

SYLOSIS: "Teras" Video Now Available!
Teras", the new video from UK-based modern thrash hopefuls SYLOSIS, can be viewed here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbGNfJM5wyw. The track comes off the band's new album, "Conclusion Of An Age", which will be released in North America on January 27th 2009 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was recorded at Grindstone Studios with producer Scott Atkins (CRADLE OF FILTH).
The iTunes version of "Conclusion Of An Age" includes the exclusive bonus track "The Fate Of Vultures".
An e-card for the for "Conclusion Of An Age" is available at this location.
According to the band, the album's lyrical theme deals with "the direction in which the planet is heading and the consequences humanity will face. The album covers many areas but the main concept is the idea of mankind destroying itself through war, self-indulgence, religion etc., and how the earth is being ravaged by humanity to the point of being destroyed… but how the earth's might will eventually prevail!"
The artwork for the album was created by Colin Marks of Rain Song Studios who has previously worked with STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, ABORTED and WHITECHAPEL.
SYLOSIS' musical style can be described as brutal, technical and deceptively melodic modern metal that favors invention over cliché and never shies away from nimble shifts in style, tempo or mood. The quintet manage to bring an epic, technical and melodic feel to the old-school thrash sound, combining incredible guitar solos and bloodlust vocals. The outcome, a sound that is both devastatingly feral and blisteringly precise.

AGAINST ME! FRONTMAN TOM GABEL LAUNCHES SOLO TOUR IN SUPPORT OF FORTHCOMING SOLO EP
"HEART BURNS" TO BE RELEASED BY SIRE RECORDS ON OCTOBER 28TH
September 15, 2008 - Burbank, CA - Tom Gabel will hit the road without his Against Me! bandmates on October 31st. Tom will be joined by Chuck Ragan (Hot Water Music), Ben Nichols (Lucero), and Tim Barry (Avail) on the Revival Tour. The frontmen will trade off playing solo sets of their own songs as well as collaborating on each others material.
Gabel is launching the tour in support of his upcoming seven-song solo EP, entitled "Heart Burns," which will be released on CD, digitally and on vinyl by Sire Records on October 28th. Inspired by the country's current political and cultural landscape, Gabel began to write new songs in January. Due to the topical and timely subject matter, he wanted to release them around the upcoming Presidential election.
The centerpiece of the EP is "Anna Is A Stool Pigeon," which Gabel wrote after reading about environmental activist Eric McDavid (www.supporteric.org) who was convicted in 2007 of conspiring to use explosives to damage corporate and government property after being implicated by an undercover FBI informant who posed as an activist. McDavid's defense has argued that he was the victim of entrapment. He currently faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
"What struck me most about the story was a sense of familiarity," Gabel says. "I know the scene he was a part of, I used to be a part of it myself. I've thought the same thoughts, talked the same talk. I've hung out with the same people, gone to similar protests. If Eric could have become the target of an FBI sting operation, then so could I. This could have been me."
"Heart Burns" was recorded late August in Los Angeles on a short two week break in between Against Me! tours. Gabel co-produced the EP along with Billy Bush, while Butch Vig executive produced. The EP contains several guest appearances including Chuck Ragan and Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio).
Gabel's solo tour will begin once Against Me! complete their upcoming U.S. tour with Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, which begins on October 1st. Against Me! have been touring non-stop in support of their current album, the Butch Vig-produced "New Wave," which was released by Sire Records in July 2007. Called "the most invigorating, zeitgeist-capturing rock album in years" by Spin Magazine, "New Wave" was named the magazine's "Album of the Year," and also appeared in the Top 10 on Rolling Stone, Blender, and MTV.com's year-end "Best Album" lists. "New Wave has spawned two singles, "White People for Peace" and "Thrash Unreal," which became the band's first single to chart in the U.S. when it climbed to No. 11 on the Modern Rock chart.
Track-listing for Heart Burns:
"Random Hearts"
"Conceptual Paths"
"Cowards Sing at Night"
"Amputations"

Pendulum Wrap First Ever Us Tour with a High Note
US Commercial Radio Story Starting to Take off!!
New York, NY — Pendulum continue on their path to world domination as they finish an incredibly successful first ever tour of the Americas with their energetic hybrid of rock fuelled by heavy beats and bass. In addition, their first US single "Propane Nightmares" is starting to pick up steam at commercial radio.
"…introduce its breakneck brand of aural dynamite to American audiences…" — Billboard
Pendulum just completed a 15 date headlining tour or the Americas which included sold out shows at the Middle East Downstairs in Boston (650), Kool Haus in Toronto (1750), Bluebird Theatre in Denver (600), The Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles (1300 people on a Monday) and Webster Hall in New York (1400). It was incredible to witness — the band brought the excitement and energy that they are known for to the States where they were met with unbridled enthusiasm. It became apparent that Pendulum already has a lot of fans here and that fanbase is growing rapidly.
"…a much-needed in-your-face assault that's equal parts Nine Inch Nails industrialism, Linkin Park Screech, and thick drum and bass groove…" — SPIN
"The electro-rock band evokes the Prodigy's sense of screaming, face-crushing bombast with savvy beats straight off the contemporary low-end-heavy zeitgeist." — LA Times
The reaction to the tour not only won Pendulum new fans, it gained them a growing story at commercial radio. Blown away by the band's live show and the connection they made with everyone who was lucky enough to see them play, radio programmers started to come around in a big way. KROQ officially added "Propane Nightmares" last week and apparently phones are already going nuts! Aaron Axelson at KITS/Live 105 in SF was one of the early believers and by the time the band made it to SF, the single was the #1 most requested song on Soundcheck. Other adds include KNDD/The End in Seattle, WEQX in Albany and KWOD in Sacramento – with the story building daily!
Pendulum brought the noise with them when they came to the US and have opened doors once again with their incredible live show and undeniable talent. The band is off to Europe for another headlining tour, then the UK, Australia and Japan before setting their sights on a return to the US in the Spring of 2009!

GREELEY ESTATES TO TOUR WITH ALESANA BEGINNING NOVEMBER 16
GREELEY ESTATES WILL BE PLAYING SONGS FROM ITS CURRENT RELEASE FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME; LATEST RELEASE GO WEST YOUNG MAN, LET THE EVIL GO EAST IN STORES NOW ON SCIENCE RECORDS
Science Records recording artist Greeley Estates will hit the road this winter with Alesana beginning Sunday, November 16 in Lansing, MI at Mac's Bar. The tour will run through December 7 concluding at Crocodile Rock in Allentown, PA.
Greeley Estates will be performing songs from its current release, Go West Young Man, Let The Evil Go East (out now on Science Records), for the very first time on this tour. Having welcomed Alesana lead singer Dennis Diablo as "guest screamer" during this summer's Vans Warped Tour, Greeley fans should be in for some surprises on this trek.
After playing hundreds of shows on average per year, securing slots on prominent tours like Rockstar Taste of Chaos, and the Vans Warped Tour, the Phoenix, AZ band has built a legion of devoted fans across the country.
Touring in support of their third full length release, Go West Young Man, Let The Evil Go East, Greeley Estates has consistently built upon the rock solid foundation they've created for themselves with 2004's Outside of This and 2006's Far From The Lies.
The band, comprised of vocalist Ryan Zimmerman, drummer Brian Champ, guitarists Alex Torres and Brandon Hackenson, and bassist Tyler "Telle" Smith, is best known for its raw and captivating live performances. Working with producer Cory Spotts (BlessTheFall, Job for a Cowboy) on Go West, Greeley Estates has managed to create its fiercest release to date and is anxious to once again take their music to the Midwest streets.

For the past 8 weeks, Clutch's first ever DVD "Full Fathom Five, Video Field Recordings," and accompanying CD have been available at the band's legendary live shows, through Merch.com and in about 150 select US, Canadian and UK independent retail outlets chosen by the band's owned and self distributed Weathermaker Music label. On November 11th, the acclaimed live Clutch DVD and accompanying "Full Fathom Five-Audio Field Recordings" CD will be available in over 1500 new retail outlets such as FYE, Best Buy, Coconuts, Fry's, Hastings and Barnes & Noble.
"This is a fantastic progression for us after only three months as an active label." states Weathermaker Music Label Manager Jon Nardachone. "Originally, our intention was to handle all CD and DVD sales directly through Weathermaker, but having the MVD Distribution team on board for the "Full Fathom Five" project ensures many ecstatic Clutch fans this holiday season."
In other Clutch related news, some of the incredible footage from the "Full Fathom Five" DVD will be featured on Comcast Cable's On Demand "Concert TV" channel starting December 15th, along with classic rock icons Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Black Crowes, Deep Purple, Santana, U2 & Motorhead.
Clutch's live concert footage was produced and directed by Agent Ogden (Primus, Jon Comer, Music With Altitude) in Pittsburgh, Sayerville, Denver and Sydney Austrailia on the band's 2007/2008 "From Beale Street to Oblivion" world tour. LAMB OF GOD'S "WRATH" SET FOR FEBRUARY 24, 2009 RELEASE
Worldwide Tour Planned
LAMB OF GOD will release their fifth studio album WRATH, on February 24th, 2009. The record will be released in North America by Epic and will be the first release with their new label Roadrunner outside of North America. WRATH is produced by Josh Wilbur and was recorded in studios in New York, Virginia, and New Hampshire.
LAMB OF GOD finished the touring cycle on the Grammy nominated album Sacrament at the end of 2007. The two-year trek was documented in the now certified Gold DVD Walk with Me in Hell and culminated with the band headlining arenas across the US last December.
The band has taken the entirety of 2008 off the road to focus on the writing process for WRATH.
“This album is going to surprise a lot of people,” comments drummer Chris Adler. “Typically bands that get to where we are in our career begin to slack off, smell the roses and regurgitate. We chose a different path. No one wants to hear another band member hyping a new record. WRATH needs no hype. We have topped ourselves and on February 24th you will feel it.”
As always, LAMB OF GOD will embark on an extensive tour that will cover the globe. As previously announced, the band will be supporting Metallica on the December leg of their tour. The first leg of the WRATH world tour will start in Finland on February 6th and will encomp | | |
