EAGLE ROCK IS READY TO RING IN THE HOLIDAYS
~Release of 4-Song Holiday Digital EP And The Return Of We Wish You A Metal Xmas And A Headbanging New Year CD~
New York, NY (October 26, 2009)—Although the weather’s starting to get chilly, Eagle Rock Entertainment is positively blazing with Christmas spirit! To kick off the holiday season, a special digital-only holiday 4-song EP will be released on November 24 [MSRP $3.99].
This EP, available via all North American digital service providers, promises to deliver good tidings to all headbangers. It features appearances from Anvil’s Steve “Lips” Kudlow on “Frosty The Snowman,” Doro Pesch and Michael Schenker on “O Christmas Tree,” Whitesnake’s Doug Aldrich and DevilDriver’s Dez Fafara on “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer,” and Girlschool on “Auld Lang Syne,” as well as other notable artists for a cornucopia of metal talent.
Continuing the Christmas cheer, Armoury Records, through Eagle Rock Entertainment, is happy to present We Wish You A Metal Xmas And A Headbanging New Year: an all-star collection of rock artists reinterpreting Christmas carols for a one-of-a-kind listening experience. Initially released October 14, 2008, this CD boasts members of Foo Fighters, Mötörhead, KISS, Dio, ZZ Top, Black Sabbath, Anthrax, Queensryche, Ratt, and Alice Cooper, throwing down on such holiday classics as “Run Rudolph Run,” “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” “Deck The Halls,” and “Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer.” This compilation of epic collaborations was produced by Bob Kulick.
“The Metal Xmas album was a great opportunity to pay homage to my least favorite holiday,” says Ronnie James Dio, “and what a lineup of musicians to do it with! The arrangements of the classic noel songs are fresh and heavy with rock’n’roll, and the performances are equally classic. It’s a magical way to change your holiday listening.”
It’s the perfect double dose of heavy metal holiday bliss! The four-song EP is the perfect star to top Metal Xmas’ tree.

DARK FUNERAL: Angelus Exuro Pro Eternus Tracklisting Revealed
Swedish black metallers DARK FUNERAL, the Ineffable Kings of Darkness, have unveiled the final track listing for their long-anticipated upcoming new full-length
Angelus Exuro Pro Eternus, scheduled for release November 10th in the US via Regain Records. The nine-track masterpiece was recorded at Abyss Studios in Grangärde, Sweden with famed engineer and legendary producer Peter Tägtgren (Pain, Hypocrisy). Musically, it's the band's most technical and varied album to date. DARK FUNERAL, while remaining true to their roots, have taken a great step forward in the evolution of their brand of fine Swedish black metal.
The album will be released in several formats, including a limited edition two-disc set [1 CD + 1 live DVD]. The bonus live DVD offers approximately 55 minutes of previously unreleased material, professionally filmed with six cameras during the band’s 15th anniversary show at P&L Festival in Sweden 2008. The album will also include two versions ("soft" and "hardcore") of the new video for “My Funeral" which was shot last month. Comments founding guitarist Lord Ahriman: "The video was shot in and outside an old and closed mental hospital. The environment was just killer and fit the video theme perfect! The video is currently under editing by Standard Film Team and within the next two-three weeks it should be ready for the world premiere. Due to the graphic violence and somewhat gory nature of the video, we will be forced to edit two versions, one soft and one hardcore version. Exactly how and where we'll release them is yet to be decided though." Make sure to check out the photos taken during the video shoot at the official DARK FUNERAL MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/darkfuneral.

THE COMPANY BAND Gear Up For A Busy Fall Schedule; Digital Single Planned For Early October
THE COMPANY BAND, featuring vocalist Neil Fallon, drummer Jess Margera, guitarists Jim Rota and Dave Bone with bassist Brad Davis, today confirm November 10 as the release date of their full length debut. The self-titled album was recorded in Los Angeles earlier this year and teamed the band with renowned producer/engineer Andrew Alekel (Queens Of The Stone Age, Foo Fighters). The band will release in advance to the album a special digital-only single featuring the album track “It’s A Confusing World” with an exclusive cover of BTO’s “Not Fragile.” The single will be available for download via various DSP’s in early October.
“It was pretty awesome to get everyone into a studio together and make this record,” reveals Jess Margera of the album’s recording process. “I never thought it would happen given that everyone has insanely crazy touring schedules. But sure enough the results turned out amazing. It was a strange reality for me, personally, as I am a huge fan of Fireball Ministry, Clutch and Fu Manchu. So to be in a room playing drums with members of all those bands was kind of unbelievable."
“It's not very often that one gets to write and play music with people that they respect as well consider family,” says Jim Rota. “This band is a dream come true.”
“Good times and great friends made this music that we are proud to bring you,” adds Dave Bone. “So pick up your balls and load up your cannons for the 21 gun salute!”
Founded by Margera (CKY) with Rota (Fireball Ministry) and Dave Bone in 2006, THE COMPANY BAND originally got together to jam among friends. Their initial recordings were laid down for the band’s 2008’s mini-album Sign Here, Here, And Here. It quickly sold through its limited pressing and has continued to be a popular digital seller via CDBaby.com and others since release. Restricted Release has now pressed it on a special 10-inch available now exclusively through the label’s Amazon store. The vinyl pressing features exclusive artwork and is hand-numbered; limited to 1000 copies.

STRYPER KICKS OFF 25TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR AT BOSTON'S HOUSE OF BLUES
Tom Scholz and Gary Pihl of Legendary Band BOSTON Joined Stryper on Stage to Perform "Peace of Mind"
(NASHVILLE, Tennessee) – Groundbreaking Christian rock band Stryper kicked off their 25th Anniversary Tour on Friday night, September 11th, at the House of Blues in Boston, MA. Making the occasion even more special, the band was joined on stage by Tom Scholz and Gary Pihl of the legendary band BOSTON for a performance of "Peace of Mind." BOSTON founder, guitarist and songwriter Tom Scholz is featured on Stryper's cover version of "Peace of Mind" on the recently released Murder by Pride (Big3 Records/SONY).
This is not the first time that Stryper and BOSTON have crossed paths. In 2008, Scholz and Pihl also joined Stryper on stage to perform “Peace of Mind” for VH1 Classic's After Math: The Station Fire Five Years Later. And last summer, Stryper's lead vocalist and guitarist Michael Sweet joined BOSTON on vocals and guitar for their 54-city headlining tour of North America.
Stryper's 25th Anniversary Tour is a family affair of sorts. That's because opening act Flight Patterns is fronted by Michael Sweet Jr., the 22-year-old son of Michael Sweet. Also on the bill is Whiplash Records rock trio Manic Drive, who earned a record seven GMA Canada Covenant Award nominations this year, taking home two awards for Rock Album of the Year and Video of the Year.
The tour will hit nearly 50 cities in North America this fall before heading out on a three month international run in early 2010. All four of Stryper's original members - Michael Sweet (vocals/guitar), Oz Fox (guitar), Robert Sweet (drums) and Tim Gaines (bass) - will take to the stage to perform their hits and fan favorites, as well as songs from Murder by Pride. Fans will also be pleased to find the band performing in all new yellow and black stage outfits from the original designer.

GRIMUS: New Song Posted
Northern New Jersey death metal/hardcore merchants GRIMUS formed in 2007, with a relentless DIY ethic, have been ravaging the ears of the Tri-State area metal underground ever since. The band's recently issued, self-financed six-song EP The Progress In Elimination was recorded in Clifton, New Jersey by Bobby Torres in Frightbox Studios (Abacinate, One Brick Down, The Grieving Process) and mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, The Black Dahlia Murder, Cannibal Corpse, Unearth et al). Said Metal Hammer Magazine of the EP, "This New Jersey band have been around for two years, honing their combination of hypnotically driving riffs and the gruff, apocalyptic vocals of Bryan Martinez to a senses-shattering unstoppable force." Added Mouth For War, "The six tracks on this debut EP encompass a sound that is raw, honest, yet contains a maturity and uniqueness that separates it from the rest of the death/grind/hardcore bands out there. Amongst the combination of melodic hooks and crushing mosh is a vocal delivery that is aggressive and varied. Not only are the songs straight-to-the-face bludgeoning they’re also catchy as hell."
The band is currently writing material for a 2010 full-length. Further details TBA. New track "In The Gutter" was recently posted to their official MySpace page. Check it out here: http://www.myspace.com/jerseygrimus.

Influential Death Metallists, Oppressor, Get Anthologized With
"The Solstice of Agony and Corrosion"
Mortal Music and MVD Audio are proud to announce the release of Oppressor - The Solstice of Agony and Corrosion on November 3rd worldwide.
Despite being listed as an influence by such renowned metal acts as God Forbid and Shadows Fall, the Chicago, IL-based Oppressor largely fell under the metallic radar during their years as an active band (1991-1999). But now, ten years after they ceased to be, highlights from all three of Oppressor's studio albums will be highlighted on the forthcoming fourteen-track compilation, The Solstice of Agony and Corrosion.
Since all of the group's albums have been long out of print, this set will come in handy for admirers of underground and extreme metal. And in addition to album highlights, included are hard-to-find death metal readings of Motley Crue and Ozzy Osbourne classics ("Looks That Kill" and "Over the Mountain," respectively). The set has been re-mastered by renowned Death guitarist James Murphy, and also includes a bonus DVD of live footage and interviews, as well as packaging chock full of rare photos and artwork.

A STORM OF LIGHT US Video Premiere, Brought To You By BROOKLYN VEGAN!
Brooklyn, NY's doom/post rock experimentalists A STORM OF LIGHT recently shot a startling new video for the song "Tempest," the third track off their upcoming new full-length, Forgive Us Our Trespasses.
The video was shot in HD at an undisclosed location in Brooklyn and directed by ASOL guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist Josh Graham (Neurosis visuals, Blood And Time, Battle Of Mice). The hauntingly textured, black and white performance video reflects the lyrics of the song, which essentially revolve around the inevitable contamination of the air, sea and earth. Said Graham of "Tempest," "This is one of the heavier songs on the new record, and we really thought this would make a good video.
It's a performance video with a twist. Over the course of the song we basically deteriorate into the chaotic footage of a dying planet."
View the new video, hosted exclusively by BROOKLYN VEGAN:

Forgive Us Our Trespasses is scheduled for release on Tuesday, September 22nd in the US via Neurot Recordings. The follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed debut, And We Wept The Black Ocean Within, finds its power through a dense bringing together of melodies, moods and textures, ensuring that while things are as heavy and cataclysmic as fans would expect, the devastating effects rely on interwoven melodies and graceful shifts in timbre, instead of a stream of identikit riffs. "I'm really happy with the progression the band has made on this record," said Graham. I think we moved into
more dynamic and orchestrated territory while still keeping the bulldozer heaviness intact. I can't
wait to play this stuff live."
A STORM OF LIGHT features Graham, bassist/vocalist Domenic Seita (formerly of Tombs and Asea), drummer/percussionist Andy Rice (formerly of Sinking Ships) and guitarist/keyboardist Joel Hamilton (Book Of Knots, Battle Of Mice), who also recorded the album. The band will perform live at a very special record release show in New York City this October with Biclops and Naked Heroes at Ace Of Clubs. All are encouraged to attend (admission is free).

BLACK ELK's latest release Always A Six, Never A Nine was unleashed last October on Crucial Blast Records. Watch for more news from this facebreaking rock unit.
"...Black Elk have gone from Jesus Lizard-like rock saviours to hardcore/sludge enthusiasts. As evidenced by this, their sophomore release, front-man Tom Glose’s vocals are even more unhinged, and the group’s musicality now approaches the crash’n’burn dynamics of Kiss It Goodbye." - Exclaim!
"...Always a Six, Never a Nine, is a gooey amalgam of bands and genres crawling over each other, and it’s not hard to find something you'll recognize. But just because you know what’s in a Snickers, does that make it any less delicious?" - Decibel
"Black Elk is less about metallics, and more about crush-grooving; a layered dirty stomp occasionally psyched out." - MetalReview.com

"The CURSE Of Martha Splatterhead is jam packed with lightning fast riffs, killer solos and production that’s anything but polished. It’s raw, passionate and intense." -- About.com
"Their songs were a fast paced dose of thrash. Their wacky stage presence exposed a well-worn path of performances since their start in the '80s hardcore circuit. And hardcore they still are... THE ACCUSED were tight, entertaining, and left the stage a slick track of bodily fluids. -- Redefine Mag live review from THE ACCUSED show in San Francisco, CA with SUNNO))) and EAGLE TWIN.

SUSPERIA VOCALIST SET TO RETURN AT STEINKJER FESTIVAL IN NORWAY
Athera (Pål Mathiesen), vocalist for Norwegian thrashers SUSPERIA is set to return to the stage at the Steinkjer Festival [http://www.steinkjerfestivalen.no] in Norway on Friday 26 June 2009. The singer, who earlier this year suffered a heart attack which resulted in major open heart surgery, has made a rapid recovery and doctors have now given him the go ahead to make his comeback.
Athera recently gave his first interview since the heart attack to Belgium's Metal Nose. Talking about his new perspective on life he said, "I haven't seen the light or anything but things are certainly different. I would never ever dare to touch any kind of drugs anymore and I don`t understand now how people can pull smoke into their lungs and stuff like that, even though I used to love it. I guess you must go through something like this to realize the dangers and insanity of some of the bad things in life." Read the full interview here: http://www.metal-nose.org/news.php?item.575.16.
SUSPERIA's fifth studio album Attitude was released last month via Candlelight Records, entering the official Norwegian Album Charts at position No..28, whilst in the USA it was the No. 3 most added album on specialist Rock Radio Playlists. Attitude is the band's debut for the Candlelight label and features guest appearances from Chuck Billy (Testament) and Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir). Recording took place at Strand Studio and Studio Cyrus, Norway, with the mix being completed at Studio Fredman in Sweden by Henrik Udd and Fredrik Nordstrom (Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Opeth).

Hartless Hind Records Releases
"Up End Atom: A Tribute To Atom And His Package"
A Portion of the Album's Proceeds To Benefit the American Diabetes Association
Hartless Hind Records and MVD Audio are pleased to announce the release of Up End Atom: A Tribute To Atom And His Package for worldwide distribution on July 14, 2009.
Up End Atom: A Tribute To Atom And His PackageUp End Atom is a tribute to seminal nerd rock icon, Atom and His Package. His quirky music and undeniable personality made him Philadelphia's most unique performer, and the world's most unlikely rock star. A chubby kid with a high voice on stage, armed with nothing but a musical synthesizer and a good sense of humor, played his way into the hearts of many. His musical journey would eventually be halted by Diabetes.
His contemporaries pay tribute to him on this record. Showing the breadth and width of his influences, artists such as Adult Swim's mcchris, German rock band Locas in Love, the originator of post-punk laptop rap MC Lars, Aussie punk band Yidcore, and hockey rock band The Zambonis all recorded tracks specifically for this tribute. All these artists come together with a common goal: to share their love for Atom and His Package and help fight Diabetes.
A portion of the album's proceeds are going to the American Diabetes Association, to fight the disease that forced Atom to retire from music.
"Atom never played a prison tour but, he is honestly for us right up there with Johnny Cash as a smart, musical, funny, innovative punk rock bad ass. We love him and are very proud to be on the CD." - Dave Schneider, THE ZAMBONIES
TRACKLISTING:
1. Steinbeck "Possessions (Not the One By Danzig)"
2. mcchris "Punk Rock Academy"
3. Math the Band "Upside Down From Here"
4. The Zambonis and Atom "Goalie"
5. Yidcore "Avenger"
6. MC Lars feat. Worm Quartet
"(Lord It's Hard to Be Happy, When You Aren't Using) the Metric System"
7. Worm Quartet feat. Curt Allen "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Lib 2008"
8. Locas in Love "I am Downright Amazed at What I Can Destroy With Just a Hammer"
9. The Emotron "Me and My Black Metal Friends"
10. Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer "Happy Birthday Ralph"
11. Golden Bloom "Lying to You"

ALEXISONFIRE TO STREAM THEIR NEW ALBUM ‘OLD CROWS / YOUNG CARDINALS’
TODAY VIA THE VAGRANT RECORDS SITE
BAND GEARING UP FOR VANS WARPED TOUR
ALL SUMMER LONG
CONFIRMED FOR MAIN STAGE PERFORMANCES AT
READING AND LEEDS FESTIVALS ON AUGUST 28 AND AUGUST 30
BAND TO JOIN ANTI-FLAG FOR EUROPEAN TREK BEGINNING OCTOBER 7
“A dense and beautiful heavy rock album with as many hardcore influences as progressive ones, and a genuine grower: rewarding and utterly gripping.”
--James Gill, METAL HAMMER (U.K., June 2009)
ALEXISONFIRE have announced they’ll stream their new album OLD CROWS / YOUNG CARDINALS in its entirety today directly via the Vagrant Records site: http://aof.vagrant.com. The album premiere will be available to U.S. residents only.
For their new album-- out on June 23 on Vagrant Records (U.S.A.) and on Dine Alone and RoadRunner in the rest of the world--ALEXISONFIRE re-teamed with Julius Butty who also produced the group’s Crisis and Watch Out! discs.
OLD CROWS / YOUNG CARDINALS--the group’s fourth studio album and first in almost three years--is beginning to receive early acclaim.
Check out a few critical soundbites here:
“Alexisonfire’s Old Crows/Young Cardinals marks a major policy shift… …Pettit has traded his trademark shrieking for a gargling-with-gravel punk attack. It sounds like all those summers hanging at the cottage with Lemmy Kilmister and Lars Frederiksen finally made him realize there’s more than one way to blow out your vocal cords. That makes Old Crows/Young Cardinals a welcome reinvention, no matter how much you loved to shred your larynx by singing along to ‘Pulmonary Archery.’ “
--Mike Usinger, ALTERNATIVE PRESS (July 2009 issue)
“Hardcore punk, post-hardcore, hardcore metal... On their fourth full length overall, 2009's Old Crows/Young Cardinals, you get a bit of all three aforementioned styles, with a healthy dose of melody stirred into the sonic blender to boot. And this hodgepodge approach should certainly bring Alexisonfire some U.S. rock radio airplay (they already scored their breakthrough hit back home on their previous album, 2006's Crisis), especially such standout tracks as the leadoff single, ‘Young Cardinals,’ as well as the album-opening ‘Old Crows,’ ‘The Northern,’ and the surprisingly tranquil and sweetly sung album closer, Burial.’”
--Greg Prato, ALL MUSIC GUIDE, (June 2009)
“Old Crows/Young Cardinals is really good. It's fast and intense, Dallas sounds great, and it's just an in-your-face type of album. AOF fans will love…”
--Drew Beringer, ABSOLUTE PUNK.NET, album preview (June 2009)
“Alexisonfire have clearly finally reached the place they have been driving to for so long: the perfect blending of hardcore, hard rock and the myriad influences that the quintet draw on--from Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley to Johnny Cash, Sigur Ros, Mogwai, At The Drive In, Radiohead…So much more than a good genre band: they truly own their sound. Two thirds of the way in, the track [‘Midnight Regulation’] is really going for it with Dallas/George interplay and a gorgeously distorted guitar-line ripping through.”
--James Gill, METAL HAMMER, June 2009)
“OLD CROWS / YOUNG CARDINALS is their best work yet. It would have been easy to fall back and rehash Crisis… Instead the band have stuck the knife into a dying genre and breathed life into a new one. 'Old Crows' is rapidly becoming my new favorite AOF track as the guitars rumble in the build up and Dallas Green takes us into one of the album's catchier moments. The lead-in to the energetic and assertive 'Young Cardinals' is seamless and perfect. 'No Rest' and 'Emerald Street' continue the up-tempo, quicker tracks. But this album is certainly diverse and even the slower tracks fail to ruin the album's flow. 'The Northern' and 'Burial' both work brilliantly and come in at the perfect time. Screamo is dead. Bring on a new musical revolution.”
--Paul Savage, PUNKTASTIC, (June 2009)
“As soon as the first track 'Old Crows' kicks in, and especially at the next track which is not very surprisingly called 'Young Cardinals,’ I noticed the more punk rock direction the band is going in. From the typical Crisis-like post-hardcore tracks like 'Heading for the Sun' and 'Born and Raised' to the faster punk-like tracks like 'Accept Crime' and the extremely catchy 'Sons of Privilege' to the slower, more emotional 'The Northern' and final track 'Burial.' In an interview lead singer George Pettit stated the band wanted to ‘put a knife’ into screamo rather than saving it, and they definitely did it. This album has the most guts Alexisonfire has had to date. OLD CROWS / YOUNG CARDINALS is a damn good album once again and may be one of their best yet.”
--Brent Thompson, METAL RAGE.COM (June 2009)
In touring news, ALEXISONFIRE will bring their explosive live show to the entire summer run of the Vans Warped Tour 2009 (June 26-August 23), joining NOFX, 3Oh!3, Bad Religion, Flogging Molly, TSOL, Underoath and many more on the annual punk rock extravaganza which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. PENNSYLVANIA'S MANTIC RITUAL OFFER TOUR UPDATE
“Hey, everyone! Adam and Jeff here, updating you once again from the road somewhere in North America (actually, in a Wal Mart parking lot in Wichita, Kansas). We're sorry it's been so long since we updated, but sometimes things get busy on the road. In the words of Wayne Campbell, ‘Let me bring you up to speed.’
Quite a lot has happened since the last update, so we'll start with the second leg of shows in Canada. The shows were great, and it was nice to see some familiar faces from our January tour with Rotting Christ. Unfortunately, our trailer broke between Winnipeg and Regina, stranding us on the side of the highway for about 6 hours. But when the U-Haul arrived, everyone on the bus banded together as a team to transfer all the gear from the trailer to the U-Haul, and we barely made it to the show in time. The new trailer didn't arrive until 7 a.m. the next morning, so we had the amazing opportunity to get some exercise by moving all the gear for the fourth time in 24 hours. Due to unforeseen circumstances, our Calgary show on St. Patty's day had to be cancelled. We'd like to apologize to anyone who came out to the show, but we'll be back this summer and we hope to see all our Calgarian buddies then!
Coming back to the States was great, especially returning to our one-time home of Los Angeles to play a few shows in the area. The Key Club was great as always, the Jumping Turtle still has the best calzones in the world, and the fans in Anaheim were absolutely insane and made it a very memorable show for us! Luckily, we managed to survive a harrowing journey through the cliffs and canyons of San Marcos, where our bus was stuck and unable to turn around. After unhooking the trailer and making a big run at it, we narrowly escaped with brilliant shower of sparks. Jeff, asleep at the time, was wondering why the hell he was almost thrown out of his bunk, and why no one else was on the bus at the time. Adam was heard to describe the scene as, ‘Oh man, it was insane. When we got back on it looked like an earthquake had hit the bus!’
Now we're on our way back east, wrapping up the tour with one more week to go. Don't worry about us - we have plenty to keep us occupied on our days off. (Jeff picked up the Wayne's World box set somewhere in Utah - zang!)
Until next time, your excellent hosts,
Adam and Jeff”
"Party on, Adam!" "Party on, Jeff!" ... I guess.
MANTIC RITUAL are currently on tour with Germany’s Destruction & Krisiun from Brazil. Remaining tour dates are available online at www.myspace.com/MANTICRITUAL

BEHEMOTH ISSUES STUDIO UPDATE!
BEHEMOTH is close to finish tracking down guitars for their next, yet untitled album. This time Woytek and Slawek Wieslawscy from Studio Hertz are co-producing guitars.
“Works are in progress, everything is goin' just smooth. We get along real fine and I believe we found a killer tone for each guitar!” comments Woytek Wieslawski.
“It's been five days of recordings and we nailed 3 songs already. We lay down 3 rhythm guitars on each side, sometimes even more.” Adds Woytek's brother, Slawek.
Image Blocked “We use Mesa Boogie Road King, Sommatone and Diezel Herbert. First two amps are used by BEHEMOTH live so we are bringing some of this live vibe to the record too. Diezel is there just to spice up the overall sound…”
“This is the most relaxing and at the same time most creative studio session I've ever been a part of. These guys are very effective and they work incredibly fast! Both are very anal bout details so now my guitars for the first time ever don't sound sloppy haha. We found some fresh sounding guitar tones and mixed it up together… I'm using this new custom amp Sommatone that was built for me in US and it sounds just amazing! I'm a long time Mesa Boogie fan so I'm using Road King as a main sound. We mix it with Diezel Herbert. I'm sure there's some new quality made here!” comments Nergal.
Don't forget to catch BEHEMOTH this summer on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival

ELUVEITIE: Post statement about Pagafest USA cancellation
Swiss folk metallers ELUVEITIE have issued a statement regarding their forced cancellation of their Paganfest USA tour appearance with KORPIKLAANI, PRIMORDIAL, MOONSORROW, BLACKGUARD and SWASHBUCKLE:
“We are very sorry to announce that we will not be able to make it to this years edition of Paganfest USA after all. We would like to make clear that this was in no way the decision of the band and that we all were looking forward to do this tour a lot. Also we are working on a replacement tour within 2009 where we'll hopefully also be able to play a special showcase featuring songs off our upcoming acoustic release "Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion" (due April 11th). We will be back for sure 'cause you guys truly rock and we did not forget the warm welcome we've received on Paganfest I & Death By Decibels!“
Furthermore the band has released a statement regarding the upcoming release of their folk/acoustic album Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion which will be out on April 11th in Europe and May 19th in North America.
Mainman Chrigel Glanzmann answers a few frequently asked questions since there has been quite a bit of confusion among their fans about the musical direction of the band in the near future:
„Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion“ sounds very different than every other ELUVEITIE release so far. It doesn’t have much to do with metal, neither does it sound like pure folk music!”
“Yes, absolutely! It is a purely acoustic album. We had the wish of once doing an acoustic album for quite a while already - it came up in our heads already three years ago, actually. It seems perfectly obvious that the result of a folk metal band producing an acoustic album will be a folk album. But we wanted to go much further than that. We wanted to stay 100% true to ourselves and continue the idea of ELUVEITIE’s music, even on a purely acoustic album: To portray ancient history, mythology and culture “in our own words” and music and to transport something ancient and primordial into our modern age. So we tried to not just display 1000-times-heard traditional folkmusic (much as we love it though), but to create some thing new: Our own acoustic music – still rooting in tradition and containing traditional tunes, but in our own version.”
„So, did you change your style of music now? Will ELUVEITIE be kind of a folkish acoustic band in future?”
“No, of course not! ELUVEITIE is fuckin metal and will always be! As mentioned before, we wanted to once do something purely acoustic. This is something that really challenged us. So, to us “Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion” is more something like a project. A project that means a lot to us though, we really love the album. But still we’re a metal band and our next album after “Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion” will for sure be a metal album again!”
“The album is entitled “Evocation I”. Does this mean, that there will also be a part II?”
„Yes. When we began to write the concept of “Evocation”, the idea came up to really extend it and to do a two-pieced concept album. Now we’ll release the first part. For the second part we will again take our time to write and elaborate it. Our next release will be a metal album again, as mentioned earlier. We are a metal band and metal is what we love. After a next metal album we will work out the second part of our acoustic project then.”

Metal Blade announces “Young Guns” tour
This spring, fans will have the chance to witness several of Metal Blade's youngest and brightest bands share the stage at venues across the US. The tour will include headliners, Psyopus, who are joined by DIY touring vets, Rose Funeral, critically acclaimed shred heavy newcomers, Woe of Tyrants, and Las Vegas' latest and brutal offering to the world of extreme metal, Molotov Solution.
Metal Blade founder and CEO, Brian Slagel comments, “We are very excited to get our cool new bands all on the road together for a great price. We hope that everyone comes out to support the bands and check out the latest in metal.”
Psyopus' latest masterpiece, Odd Senses, hit streets on February 17th and has blown away fans and critics alike - from the add explosive tracks like The Burning Halo to the epic nearly classical track, A Murder to a Child. This band's live performance literally has to been seen to be believed. Main man Chris Arp is excited to join up with these bands on the road, “We're psyched to own stages across this country with these rocking kats. Metal in your face, zinch, zinch, zinch!” - Chris Arp, Psyopus
“…ODD SENSES, is a mind blowing journey into the psychotic realm of extreme metal music.” Fangoria.com
Rose Funeral's sophomore release and Metal Blade debut, The Resting Sonata, offers an impressive slab of death metal that, when delivered live, causes audiences to erupt into violent mosh pits. Expect gang vocals and death metal delivered with precision. The band adds, “We are all stoked to be on tour with some of our Metal Blade family members. This will definitely be a tour full of surprises for everyone. Don't miss a show coming to your area or you will miss out on one of the best highlights of the year.”
“Rose Funeral has potential to actually change the scene, rather than add to its generic-ness.” Hails & Horns
Woe of Tyrants have wowed critics and guitar aficionados with, Kingdom of Might. Their ability to meld high flying near Dragonforce-esque guitars with the groove and aggression of death metal is coupled with a positive and thought-provoking lyrical message. Vocalist Chris Catanzaro comments, “Woe of Tyrants are extremely proud and grateful to represent our label, Metal Blade, on the Young Guns Tour this spring, alongside some fantastic bands. Getting to share the stage with our boys in Psyopus once again is an honor, and we're looking forward to going out for the first time with Rose Funeral and Molotov Solution. Come and check out some great new talents, see you on the road!”
“Kingdom of Might IS habit forming and shouldn't be taken with alcohol. For dry spells (when the album doesn't have your complete attention) of 5 minutes or more, please consult a doctor (you'd have to be dead).” AbsolutePunk.net
Molotov Solution, one of Metal Blade's newest additions, just finished recording their Metal Blade debut at Lambesis Studios in San Diego with the duo of Tim Lambesis and Daniel Castlman mixing. Their social commentary and intelligent lyrical attacks are sure to continue on this next installment. Guitarist Robbie Pina adds, “We are extremely excited and honored to be included in Metal Blades "Young Guns" tour. This will be our first tour as part of the Metal Blade family and our anticipation precedes us.”

SUSPERIA VOCALIST TO UNDERGO OPEN HEART SURGERY
OSLO, NORWAY: SUSPERIA vocalist Athera (Pal Mathieson) remains under close observation at Akershus Universitetssykehus Hospital in Lørenskog, Norway following his heart attack last week. The singer has been diagnosed with a previously undetected genetic disorder that will require the replacement of three narrowed arteries and three heart valves. He will undergo a triple heart by-pass operation through open heart surgery on Monday March 16th 2009. Meanwhile the singer is being kept on heavy doses of medication to keep his blood thin and his heart rate down.
Though in a serious, but stable condition, a highly spirited and medicated Athera speaking from his hospital bed sent the following message: "Hey everyone out there in the metal universe - friends and strangers. Thanks for all your messages of support. I'm lying here in the hospital reading them all and it's really nice to see that so many of you have taken the time to send them. It's overwhelming. I've had a big shock and it's not something I would want anyone to experience. You know, I always wanted to hit the headlines - but not in this way! Looks like the SUSPERIA curse has hit again, a new album and tour on the way and one of us complicates it all. But damn it, we will never let anything stop us - ever! Even if death itself comes knocking and believe me it did. I am undergoing open heart surgery this Monday to replace some broken valves and veins, and then this metal heart will beat once again. The Doc(tor) says I'll be back stronger than ever. I will have to spend a long time in the hospital, but it's not that bad. You should see the nurses taking care of me. Could be worse. Looking forward to getting back up and on the road again. Sorry for the shows that I'm not going to be able to do. I will make it up to you guys. You all make me stronger, I am truly grateful."
Future plans for SUSPERIA remain mixed. However the band have confirmed the postponement of Norwegian dates, which were set for April 09. Their UK tour in May with Breed 77 will go ahead at the insistence of Athera himself. He has urged the band not to let their UK fans down and to look at finding a replacement vocalist.
The release of SUSPERIA's next studio album is still set for early summer as planned, through the band's new label Candlelight Records. Full details will be announced shortly.

GORGOROTH TRADEMARK VERDICT REACHED
Oslo City District Court has delivered a verdict on the main question in the GORGOROTH trademark case, which took place at the end of January 2009. The court has decided that King Ov Hell's trademark registration #243365 of the band name GORGOROTH is NOT valid and shall therefore be deleted. The court states that King ov Hell and Gaahl excluded themselves from the band GORGOROTH when they tried to fire Infernus in October 2007. The court further states that Infernus cannot be excluded from GORGOROTH, unless he himself decides to quit. Infernus is very pleased, but not surprised, by this verdict. The remaining issues concerning financial matters and such are yet to be decided upon.
Blabbermouth.net has received the following statement from bassist Tom Cato Visnes and vocalist Kristian Espedal regarding the latest developments in their legal dispute with guitarist Infernus over the rights to the GORGOROTH band name: "Regarding the recent court case over the use of the name GORGOROTH, Kristian Espedal and Tom Cato Visnes confirm that parts of the verdict have been decided and went in favour of Infernus. This is only a partial verdict on the case. Because of the complexity of this case, there will be further court hearings and the final verdict will be announced within a few weeks.”
"Gaahl and King wish Infernus the best of luck using the banner of GORGOROTH on his art.”

BEHEMOTH ISSUES STUDIO UPDATE!
Image Blocked Los Angeles, CA – March 16, 2009 – BEHEMOTH is close to finish tracking down guitars for their next, yet untitled album.

Brooklyn Quintet HULL Hits the Road; to Play THE END RECORDS' 2009 SXSW Showcase
Brooklyn-based quintet HULL will be kicking tires and lighting fires tomorrow when they kick off their 2009 spring tour at Philadelphia's Khyber Pass as they make their way down to South By Southwest, where they'll be pummeling eardrums at THE END RECORDS' official showcase.
"Hull’s three guitar attack achieves maximum sludgery, bashing your skull into the wall with a sledgehammer and smearing your brains across the floor," MetalSucks.net has said of the band's live show and Metal Maniacs described them as having "all the crush of early Mastodon met with the ambient fire of Neurosis, but somehow [Hull] avoids sounding like either one of them."
HULL, who signed with THE END RECORDS in December, have made a name for themselves in the New York underground over the past few years and will be a welcome addition to THE END's growing family of diverse artists. Now, the band sets their sights on the rest of the country.

GOES CUBE to Release Debut Full-Length, 'Another Day Has Passed,' on May 12th; Album Cover and Tracklisting Revealed; Tour with Valient Thorr Starts Tonight, March 12th
Brooklyn's GOES CUBE will release their full-length debut, 'Another Day Has Passed,' on May 12th via THE END RECORDS. A sneak peak from the album, which is the followup to a trio of sold out EPs, is available for download via Stereogum.com.
Many bands get all uppity about how they hate labels and comparisons and all that, but Brooklyn’s Goes Cube don’t really care what you call them. They're just unpretentious like that – no fancy gear, no fancy clothes or haircuts. They're simply three friends who are obsessed with making each song heavier, more intense, more glorious, and just plain better than the last.
Goes Cube has steadily gained attention as one of the most intense bands in both their hometown of New York City, and beyond. Their music is a brutal blend of metal, punk, and full-on rock, and is performed with an urgency rarely witnessed or experienced anymore. None of the members have any sort of formal or traditional training on their instruments, and as a result their music—from the dizzying and unexpected drum fills, bizarrely and lowly-tuned guitars, and unrelenting bass—has a singularity in its sound and structure that simply does not exist elsewhere.
Stereogum has said that the band's "sledgehammer assault" is "inescapably awesome," and that they've become their "favorite underground locals." Oh My Rockness said, "Goes Cube is an insanely good band" and that they give "newfound hope for the future of rock in New York City." Hell, they’re even taking note 3,000 miles away: the Los Angeles Times warned its readers that "You'll need a bit of time to recover from this one — perhaps book a cell in a monastery for quality silence. This is as loud as loud gets."
And for all you fans of heavy music, isn't that what it's all about? You won't find these guys at the hottest parties. You'll find them in a cramped van, heading for their next tour date. You'll find them in a tiny practice space, deafening themselves and their neighbors. You'll find them at the bowling alley, drinking beers and smashing pins like they've smashed so many eardrums.
The band has rapidly sold out of their first three EPs – ‘Beckon The Dagger God’, ‘Not What We Thought’ and ‘Hutchinson’ – and now set their sights on a full-length debut entitled ‘Another Day Has Passed’ which will be released via the band’s newfound home label, THE END RECORDS, on May 12th, 2009. Produced by Dean Baltulonis (Sick Of It All, Most Precious Blood, Freya, Hold Steady, and more), Goes Cube slams its way through 13 songs in a little more than 45 minutes, and with hardly a second to breathe from start to finish. Some songs are sonic hammersmashes, and others are dark but glorious tractor-trailers plowing through your eardrums. Every second of it is pure intensity.
Call it metal, call it post-metal, call it quasi-metal-post-punk-pre-twenty-second-century-independent-art-sounds if you're into that kind of thing. But just do yourself a favor: Take a listen.

Nadja—a duo from Toronto, Ontario featuring Aidan Baker and Leah Buckareff—create what is often described as ’ambient doom.’ Nadja’s music combines elements of metal, shoegaze, ambient, post-rock , experimental, and neo-classical. Their new album, ’When I See The Sun Always Shines On TV,’ features eights covers of some of Baker and Buckareff’s favorite bands. ”Consider this album an exploration of the roots of Nadja,” says Baker. ”Everyone compares us to My Bloody Valentine, so we had to cover them; Codeine and Swans were both bands exploring the heaviness of metal without actually being metal; The Cure have that lovely, bittersweet gloominess; Elliott Smith's 'Needle in the Hay' is simultaneously so simple and so devestating; no one believed us when we said we covered a song from The Kids in the Hall movie, a staple of our live set, so we had to get that one to tape; how could we resist the opportunity to cover A-ha's heaviest (but oh so catchy) tune? And Slayer is just Slayer. In an effort to illustrate our motivations behind this album, we asked our friend Mathew Smith to create a series of children's-storybook-like drawings to go with each song.”

DEVO ANNOUNCE NEW STUDIO ALBUM TO DEBUT FALL 2009
SXSW PRESS CONFERENCE AND KEYNOTE PANEL CONFIRMED FOR THURSDAY MARCH 19 AT AUSTIN CONVENTION CENTER
ONE-NIGHT-ONLY SXSW PERFORMANCE SET FOR FRIDAY, MARCH 20 AT AUSTIN MUSIC HALL
U.K. PERFORMANCES ON TRACK FOR MAY INCLUDING A HEADLINING SPOT AT ‘ALL TOMORROW’S PARTIES’
De-evolution has finally arrived...and who better to guide us through the mess than DEVO.
What the iconic new wave, art punk pioneers cautioned us about almost 30 years ago is no longer a humorous theory. It's pretty much fact--we now live in a devolved world that’s getting wackier each and every day.
The fall of 2009 will bring a new DEVO studio album, their first one since 1990’s Smooth Noodle Maps. It’ll mark their first new music since the strong fan reaction that greeted the 2007 single “Watch Us Work It,” their first new song in 18 years and one that was produced by Sweden’s TeddyBears (Robyn). They’re now in the studio putting the finishing touches on their new album (title TBA).
The five-piece--featuring co-founders and songwriters MARK MOTHERSBAUGH (lead vocals, synthesizer innovations) and GERALD CASALE (lead vocal, bass) and rounded out by BOB CASALE (guitarist), BOB MOTHERSBAUGH (guitars/vocals) and JOSH FREESE (drums)--are set make a special U.S. appearance at SXSW this year including a press conference (4:00pm) and keynote panel (5:00pm)--moderated by radio veteran Nic Harcourt--set for Thursday, March 19 at the Austin Convention Center (500 East Cesar Chavez St.). They’ll follow that up with a Friday, March 20 one-night-only SXSW concert at the Austin Music Hall (208 Nueces St.). Pre SXSW, DEVO fans in Dallas can catch a special one-off show on Wednesday, March 18 at the Palladium Ballroom. To purchase tickets, go here: http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0C004251D5078964?brand=aeglive.
In May, DEVO will head to the United Kingdom for a series of dates. On Wednesday, May 6, DEVO will perform their debut album, the seminal Q: Are We Not Men, We Are Devo! in its entirety from beginning to end at London’s Kentish Town Forum. Released in 1978, the seminal album produced by Brian Eno and recorded in Germany features such notable tracks such as the band’s cover of The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Mongoloid” and “Jocko Homo.” Next up on Friday, May 8, they’ll headline the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in Somerset at the Butlins Holiday Centre.
Formed in 1972 in Akron, OH, DEVO--short for “de-evolution”--began as an art project cautioning that humans were devolving and regressing into a herd mentality of American society, not evolving. A conceptual band from the beginning, DEVO were ahead of their time, incorporating elaborate aesthetics into their live shows and seamlessly combining their music with visuals years before MTV or any music-video culture existed. Indeed, the group’s first appearance at Kent State University in 1973 was recorded with a black and white portable video system. Societal satirists, DEVO’s lyrical mix of comedy and quirky wit, warned of the dangers of rampant capitalism in “Whip It” and “Freedom of Choice”, and the devolution of society in “Jocko Homo” and ”Beautiful World.“ Onstage in their early incarnation, the group began with a mixture of synthesizers and rock instruments; as they developed in the late seventies and early eighties, DEVO became one of the first American acts to perform using only synthesizers. DEVO have now returned with an evolved look, ready to impact the vastly devolved world we now find ourselves trying to navigate.

OSLO, NORWAY -- Athera ( Pal Mathieson) , vocalist with Norwegian band SUSPERIA, was rushed to Akershus Universitetssykehus Hospital in Lørenskog, Norway on the morning of March 9th suffering from acute stomach pains and heavy bleeding. MELVINS CELEBRATE SILVER (25TH) ANNIVERSARY;
PLAN SPECIAL “EVENING WITH” PERFORMANCES IN MAY
LOS ANGELES, Mar. 9 – The Melvins are turning twenty five and marking the occasion with a group of celebratory shows set for mid-May in New York, Boston, Chicago and Austin.
The four shows will be an “evening with” the band and feature a first set with the original line-up of Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover (on bass) and original drummer Mike Dillard. For the second set Buzz, Dale and Trevor Dunn (bass player for Fantomas, MadLove, Mr. Bungle) will perform Houdini in its entirety.
“We’re living on borrowed time." explained Buzz. "When the Melvins started I never expected to actually be ALIVE for 25 more years."
The Melvins formed in 1984 in Montesano, Wash., a small town on the west coast of the state. Crover and Osborne have been the two constant members of the band over their twenty-five year history. In that time, the group has been labeled and re-labeled with each passing musical fad but have outlasted each categorization and shone through as a creative entity that is unclassifiable. While the band came to mainstream prominence in the mid-90’s, the Melvins’ most recent releases (Nude With Boots, (A) Senile Animal) have been their most critically and commercially well-received albums to date. Couple that with their seemingly endless influence on other musicians and it’s easy to see why the Melvins have become one of the most well-respected bands of a generation.

AN HORSE RIDE ACROSS NORTH AMERICA;ACCLAIMED AUSTRALIAN DUO TO HERALD DEBUT ALBUM WITH FULL-ON LIVE ITINERARY;
DATES INCLUDE HEADLINE SHOWS, SXSW SHOWCASES, AND TOURS ALONGSIDE WINTERSLEEP AND THE APPLESEED CAST; NATIONAL TELEVISION DEBUT SET FOR WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11th ON CBS' LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN;
"REARRANGE BEDS" ARRIVES EVERYWHERE ON MARCH 17TH
mom&pop music company recording duo An Horse has announced a full schedule of activities surrounding the upcoming release of its eagerly anticipated debut album. "REARRANGE BEDS" arrives in stores on March 17th.
Currently in midst of a major North American tour, the Brisbane, Australia-based duo will make their national television debut with a performance on CBS' Late Show with David Letterman, slated for this Wednesday, March 11th.
An Horse is set to make a number of showcase appearances at the upcoming South By Southwest (SXSW) extravaganza in Austin, Texas, including a March 18th performance at Maggie Mae's alongside Tegan and Sara's Sara Quin, who helped A&R "REARRANGE BEDS" after falling in thrall to the duo's music while on tour in Australia. An Horse will follow its busy SXSW itinerary with a pair of further tours, beginning with a series of co-headlining dates with Wintersleep, set to kick off on March 24th at Los Angeles' Echoplex. Next up is a run of April dates alongside The Appleseed Cast, starting April 9th at Nashville's The End.
"REARRANGE BEDS" has already begun receiving extensive critical acclamation. In its three-and-a-half starred rave, Rolling Stone hailed the collection as a "killer breakup album," praising its "fuzzed-out riffs, hummable hooks and snarling beats" for "(recalling) the best of Nineties alt-rock." "Their neurotic songs wallop like a small-scale Nirvana," declared Marie Claire, while Spin commended the "clever and efficient" duo for "(churning) up a poignant fervor."
Vocalist/guitarist Kate Cooper and drummer Damon Cox came together as An Horse while working in a Brisbane basement which housed one of Australia's few remaining independent record stores. Though the shop proved short-lived, Cooper and Cox began writing songs and performing live, earning acclaim across Australia for their exuberant and unsettling indie rock. An Horse presented its first batch of recordings to Sara Quin after a Tegan and Sara show in Brisbane and Quin liked what she heard enough to invite the duo to support on Tegan and Sara's 2008 US tour.
"Kate's lyrics about love, relationships and the tendency to fixate on disabling neurosis in oneself have become my mission statement," says Quin. "I get goose bumps, electrical currents running up my arms listening to them - I love this band."
Upon the trek's conclusion, Quin introduced An Horse to Michael Goldstone, who had recently launched mom&pop music company with the renowned artist management firm, Q Prime. Goldstone liked what he heard and soon thereafter An Horse became one of the new label's premier signings.
An Horse recorded "REARRANGE BEDS" with ARIA Award-winning producer Magoo (Midnight Oil, Gerling, Regurgitator) at Applewood, a converted church situated on 10 acres of Australian bushland 45 minutes west of Brisbane. The album was then mixed in Vancouver by producer/engineer Howard Redekopp, known for his work with such artists as Tegan and Sara, A.C. Newman, and The New Pornographers.
"REARRANGE BEDS" sees An Horse exploring the myriad of nooks and crannies of relationships through Cooper's personal and provocative lyrical perspective. From the hypnotic "Little Little Little" to the distorted guitar and driving beat of staccato "Postcards," the album masterfully captures the elation and anxieties of modern love, all with an underlying sense of hope and resolve.
An Horse has also earned a reputation as a truly stellar live outfit. The duo recently joined forces with Death Cab For Cutie for a series of Australian tour dates after Death Cab frontman Ben Gibbard proclaimed "they'd only come to Australia if they could play with An Horse."

This evening's line-up of talent is a heavy metal fan's wet dream! Only Revolver would have the credibility to make our dreams come true with the First Annual Golden Gods Awards. To see Ozzy get a lifetime achievement is long overdue. It is an honor to say, ‘YES! Megadeth will headline!’…I doubt Jethro Tull will be getting an award."
Hosted by actor/comic Brian Posehn (“The Sarah Silverman Program”), the night--a celebration of one of rock’s most enduring and fan-supported genres--will also feature special appearances by Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, Glenn Danzig, Maynard James Keenan of Tool and Puscifer, Jonathan Davis of Korn, Alice In Chains, Vinnie Paul, Scott Ian, Olympic gold-medalist Shaun White, Chuck Billy of Testament, Protest The Hero, Marta Peterson from Bleeding Through, Isis, Ken Susi and Trevor Phipps of Unearth, Brendon Small from Dethklok, Steel Panther, WWE wrestler CM Punk, Sirius XM radio host Jose Mangin, Chaos radio host “Full Metal Jackie” and many more.

LAMB OF GOD DRUMMER CHRIS ADLER CHECKS IN FROM ‘WRATH’ WORLD TOUR TO SALUTE AND THANK FANS
With its debut selling over 68,000 units, LAMB OF GOD’s explosive new album, Wrath, rocketed to #2 on the Billboard Top 200, their highest chart position ever (February 24 release / Epic Records). The remarkable achievement is not only a huge step for the band, but for the heavy metal genre as a whole. While poppy trends and fads have come and gone, heavy metal music has only continued to gain in strength. With their #2 debut (between Taylor Swift and The Jonas Brothers), LAMB OF GOD has made a statement – the music industry is heading in a new direction and they are leading the charge.
Drummer Chris Adler commented on the success of Wrath from a tour stop in Indonesia: “Tonight we are in Jakarta, Indonesia. Tomorrow is the last show of the first leg of the 'Wrath' tour. I can't express in words how things have changed for us in the past 6 weeks. Wrath has debuted at #2. We are literally astonished. With the economy brittle and an abundance of copycat artists, we were able to shock the music world and pull off what no one else has done. To get a better understanding, the record industry has declined 30% since our last album, Sacrament, debuted in August 2006, yet we prevailed and outsold that record....with a new record that is brutal slap to the face of all popular music. I could not be more proud of the band for making the record we wanted, but more importantly you, the friends and family of this band, are the ones that made it a reality. The credit is yours. The revolution is ours.
“This is a triumph not only for us, but for metal. I look at it as objectively as possible - this is not about us in Lamb of God, this is the tide turning against the sing-song, look-alike pretty-boy industry. It's unreal to be a part of, and at the moment leading, the charge in this important direction. I rejoice in the dent we have created in the establishment, but it never could have happened without you. I mean that. This is the time for us all to raise a glass to each other and understand that together we are dictating the future of real music. I can't tell you how amazing that is to me. I now look forward to the future of music and the evolution of metal. Nu Metal is officially dead, and we can all hopefully begin look forward to cute teenage girls no longer being exploited with jingles written in back rooms by old men with music formulas. Together we've shocked the world, and we are proud and honored to have your support. This is your victory as much as it is ours. We are lucky you have our back!
“We did not do this in a void. Many bands before us, that came before their time, have influenced us and helped us create who we are. There are too many to list, but I can tell you that we are children of the '80s metal/punk scene. We are the kids that skipped first period to smoke cigarettes and listen to our cassette Walkmans, just like you. We are the outcasts, the ones with "limited potential" and "no future." Follow your dreams and do what is in your heart. There is no better advice I can give. To all that tried to stop us as individuals and as a band, I say unto thee, thank you. You have made it all so much sweeter.
“If you are reading this, you get it. We've never schemed to do anything other than have fun and be the best we can be. Love us or hate us, you have to admit that we are shattering doors that should have been opened long ago. All hail metal.”
The Lamb of God North American WRATH TOUR kicks off April 2nd in Phoenix, AZ with As I Lay Dying, Children of Bodom, God Forbid, and Municipal Waste supporting.

Free Your Mind extends beyond the cut-and-paste albums being churned out, instead infusing dynamic guitars behind the soul-shaking howls and relatable melodies from frontman Slade Echeverria. Crafted in Los Angeles by producer Mike Green (Paramore, Good Charlotte) over a four-week span in Los Angeles, Free Your Mind's formation came from a desire to break out from the "fad band" chokehold and delve into what was real.
Anarbor is currently on the 2009 Sub City Take Action Tour, Presented by FYE. The 2009 lineup features headliner Cute Is What We Aim For, along with Breathe Carolina, Meg & Dia, and Every Avenue. SAVING ABEL Album is RIAA Gold
#1 Rock/Top 10 Top 40 Hit “Addicted” Certified Platinum;
Most Played Song Of 2008 At Active Rock Radio
Second Single “18 Days” Already A Top 5 Rock and Top 10 Alternative Smash Currently Heating Up Top 40 and Hot AC Radio
Third Hit Single is “Drowning (Face Down)”Impacting Rock Radio Now
A year after the release of their self-titled debut album, Virgin Records rock quartet Saving Abel’s music is a proven staple of every rock and mainstream radio format, and the band has sealed their arrival with a platinum single, “Addicted,” and a gold album certified by RIAA.
Saving Abel’s first gold album award was presented to Saving Abel backstage last weekend at New Jersey’s IZOD Center where they played with Seether and Nickelback. Saving Abel and Nickelback and have confirmed the extension of their tour dates together along with Papa Roach and Hinder on the second leg of the tour beginning July 10th in Darien Lake, NY. Saving Abel also has added new headline dates along with a string of co-headline dates with Shinedown in late spring (full schedule below).
The platinum single “Addicted” had an extraordinary run as 2008’s most-played song at active rock radio, with 11 consecutive weeks at No. 2 in the format, and a No. 1 posting at mainstream rock radio and No. 7 at alternative. The song also had a powerful, months-long afterburn on mainstream Top 40 and Hot AC radio, hitting the top 10 in both formats. The follow-up ballad, honoring our nation’s troops, “18 Days," is a top 5 hit at active rock, top 10 at alternative radio and is progressing in the Top 40 and Hot AC charts. A new single, "Drowning (Face Down)" arrives at active rock radio this week, and a video shoot is planned this month.
Saving Abel have been kings of the road for a good year: they’ve combined old-school touring with new technology by awarding a custom Saving Abel PRS (Paul Reed Smith) guitar at each stop of the Nickelback tour to a fan who texts the band from the room during their set. Aside from confirming the second leg of the Nickelback tour for July to September, and separate dates with Seether in May through June, Saving Abel is also playing such marquee festivals as Beale Street, Rock on the Range and several stops on the Crawfish Boil.
Saving Abel was a 3-week at #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart before debuting on the national Billboard Top 200 album chart in July 2008. Saving Abel’s videos drew major exposure on MTV2, VH1, FUSE and Music Choice, where “Addicted” was a No.1-played video on the “Hit List” channel.
Saving Abel - named after the Biblical sibling of Cain - was formed by Jared Weeks and guitarist Jason Null in 2004 in their hometown of Corinth, Mississippi. Now based in Memphis, Tennessee, the band's lineup includes guitarist Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor and drummer Blake Dixon. Combining influences of southern rock, hard rock and alternative music, the band was first heard on a 2005 EP, produced by Skidd Mills (12 Stones, Saliva, Submersed).

JUNIUS
NORTH AMERICAN TOUR STARTS TONIGHT IN BOSTON, MA
FIRST SONG FROM NEW ALBUM NOW AVAILABLE AS SPECIAL SCREEN PRINT + MP3 SINGLE
JUNIUS have just released a song from their new album as a limited edition hand-screened print with an accompanying digital download, available exclusively from the band's MySpace page (myspace.com/junius). The song, "Stargazers & Gravediggers," is the first single from the upcoming album, The Martyrdom of a Catastrophist. The album is inspired by the life and theories of controversial scholar Immanuel Velikovsky and will be released this summer. In the meantime, JUNIUS are keeping busy with a two-month-long North American tour, beginning Monday 3/9 in Boston, highlighted by several appearances at SXSW in Austin, TX, including a performance on The End Records' official showcase on March 19th.
The band had this to say about the song release:
"We wanted to offer a unique piece of art to go with the music, instead of simply offering a digital download. So, long after your iPod dies, you'll still have something tangible to look at and hold on to." - Michael Repasch-Nieves (JUNIUS guitarist and artist of the Stargazers prints)
The band's Spring tour starts tonight in Boston, MA. JUNIUS will be joined by California band THE HUNDRED DAYS on the first leg of the tour.

Roadrunner Annonunces Two New Reissues
Roadrunner Records is proud to announce the rereleasing of two crucial albums from the label's deep, highly respected catalog. Type O Negative's essential Slow, Deep and Hard and Glassjaw's genre-defining Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence will be re-entering the marketplace on March 24 with an assortment of added audio and visual bonuses.
Type O's head-turning, raw debut, Slow, Deep and Hard, was originally released in 1991 and is credited with launching the black-humored, doomy metal band's career. Type O eventually went on to become the first Gold-certified band on Roadrunner. The reissue is re-mastered, which adds an element of crispness to this classic release's sound. It also includes a bonus track called "Hey Pete." It will also feature new liner notes, redesigned artwork and extra photos. It's a "must have" for fans of Brooklyn's finest.
Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence by Long Island's Glassjaw was the sounding bell for emotionally aggressive post-hardcore. The album, which unexpectedly impacted the scene like an atom bomb in 2000, was a heart-on-the-sleeve slab of hulking, noisy and earnest rock. It quickly established Glassjaw as one of the architects of today's screamo scene, something for which they take no credit. The reissue features new liner notes as well as the "lost" track, "Convectuoso," in addition to a cover of Youth of Today's hardcore classic, "Modern Love Story."
Each reissue will hit retail shelves on March 24, 2009.

Eagle Rock “Fire It Up” With BLACK LABEL SOCIETY SKULLAGE CD/DVD
~Greatest Hits Package To Be Released April 21~
New York, NY (February 25, 2009)—Seven albums deep, Black Label Society has compiled their greatest material into a special one-shot package. On April 21, Eagle Rock Entertainment will unleash the massive greatest hits CD/DVD Skullage, brewing with 10 years of heavy, ferocious, rock. [Pre-Book order date April 1, Retail Sales Price $24.98]. The individual 115 minute DVD ($14.98) and individual CD ($13.98) will also be available separately.
The career retrospective Skullage CD portion includes a cross-section of the most brutal BLS tracks, including “13 Years of Grief,” “Doomsday Jesus,” and “New Religion.” The DVD is a mash-up of material, with various live sets (including acoustic versions of “The Blessed Hellride,” “Spoke In The Wheel,” and “Stillborn”) and some of the most visually innovative BLS music videos. Spend time with Zakk as he shares his memories of “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, explains the motivation behind his most well known songs, and displays his treasure trove of axes. You get what you expect with Zakk – pranks and antics abound as we visit his home, hang with him and meet his dogs.
BLS frontman Zakk Wylde has spent the last twenty years establishing himself as not only a guitar icon, but also a rather prolific songwriter. Studying at the alter of Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, and Randy Rhoads, Wylde is now revered by the latest wave of metal guitarists.
The band will embark on the Black Label Bash tour on March 6. With the help of guitarist Nick “Evil Twin” Catanese, drummer Craig “Louisiana Lightning” Nunenmacher and bassist John “JD” DeServio, this will make for one rough, pummeling ride.
Eagle Rock Entertainment develops, acquires and produces music programming for a wide range of notable and high profile artists, which the company distributes on a worldwide basis. Eagle Rock Entertainment, Eagle Vision and Eagle Eye Media are wholly owned divisions of Eagle Rock Group, LTD.
For more information regarding this and other Eagle Rock Entertainment releases, contact Carol Kaye at Carol@Kayosproductions.com.

Revolting Cocks Release First Record in Three Years
Following the release of 2006’s star-studded "Cocked and Loaded", the Revolting Cocks (RevCo) will be releasing "Sex-O Olympic-O" on March 3rd on Al Jourgensen's 13th Planet Records. RevCo founding member Jourgensen is clearing up, once and for all, the rumors surrounding the band’s future. "Much like Menudo does or the Blue Man Group, I was going to hand the band over to this younger generation of RevCo's, to Sin [Quirin/guitars], Josh [Bradford/vocals] and Clayton [Worbeck/keyboards], kind of franchise it out. I think that these three knuckleheads capture the true essence and spirit of being 'a Revolting Cock,' if you will. But, this album turned out so damned good, I think I'm going to stick around for a while.”
"This is the best RevCo album I've ever done," Al continued. "As a matter of
fact, I think this is the best album - including Ministry, Pailhead, Lard -
anything I've ever done, period. Production-wise, song-wise, I'm really, really happy with this record. It's the first CD I've ever gotten back from the mastering studio that I didn't have anything to bitch about. No complaints. I listened to the whole thing and just went, 'OK, that's a wrap. Let's go'!"
Since their formation in 1983, when Jourgensen formed RevCo with Luc Van Acker
and Richard 23 from Front 242, Jourgensen has been the only constant member of
the popular underground industrial-dance band – along the way, issuing such
classic releases as 1985’s "Big Sexy Land", 1990’s "Beers, Steers, and Queers", and 1993’s "Linger Ficken’ Good" and 2006’s "Cocked and Loaded" (which included appearances by members of ZZ Top, Cheap Trick, the Butthole Surfers, and Jello Biafra), among others. But like all great franchises, there comes a time when the chairman must infuse it with new blood, and that’s what Jourgensen is doing with "Sex-O Olympic-O". The three talented musicians that he’s passing the RevCo torch to – eccentric singer Josh Bradford, guitarist Sin Quirin, and keyboardist/electronic specialist Clayton Worbeck - are certainly qualified for their newly appointed promotions.
"Sex-O Olympic-O" retains the unmistakable RevCo industrial-dance-metal sound,
and sees Quirin, Bradford and Worbeck let first-wave glam rock seep into their
already rich sound. Case in point, the soon-to-be quirky anthem (and first
single from the album), "I'm Not Gay," which debuted on Ministry's 2008 "C U
LaTouR" live shows and is now a solid staple on MySpace and Facebook homepages
around the world.
Tracks such as "Hookerbot 3000" and "The Red Parrot" show evidence that RevCo's affection for frequenting strip clubs has certainly rubbed off on them
musically, as many of the songs sound like a custom-made soundtrack for
strippers worldwide to strut their stuff to. But if you dig deep into the
lyrics, you'll be afforded a direct look into the warped and twisted mind of
Bradford. "Josh recorded a lot of these vocals in his apartment, really thin
walls with no soundproofing," points out Worbeck. "He was tracking in the
middle of the night with headphones on, yelling at the top of his lungs these
bizarre phrases that are in the song. If you think about it, his neighbors
weren't hearing music, all they were hearing was him yelling these strange
lyrics. His neighbors must think he's insane."
Now that "Sex-O Olympic-O" is in the can, RevCo will initiate rehearsals shortly for the upcoming RevCo World Tour, scheduled to begin in the Fall.
Says Bradford, "The challenge will be coming up with a name for the RevCo tour, since Al already took all of the RevCo-appropriate tour names such as ‘CliTour’, ‘Sphinctour’, ‘FornicaTour’, and ‘MasterBaTouR’ for Ministry. We'll probably have a contest on the RevCo MySpace site and ask the fans."
In addition to his role in Ministry (co-writing credits on Ministry’s 2007
release "The Last Sucker" and guitar on 2008’s "Cover Up" album) and co-writing credits for RevCo’s "Sex-O Olympic-O", Grammy-nominated Sin Quirin is currently working with DJ Hardware on the ReVamp tour which finds Quirin and Hardware collaborating on a live genre defying mix of remixes, mashups, and originals in an extremely innovative format. The ReVamp tour will wow audiences with a truly unique experience as Sin and Hardware will offer a combination of Hardware's world class mixing abilities matched with Sin's incredible talents to shred on guitar. The “I’m Not Gay” (Hardware Mixxx) was unleased upon dancefloors last Christmas via an exclusive internet servicing to North American DJs.

THE JÄGERMEISTER MUSIC TOUR RAGES ON!
PENNYWISE AND PEPPER TO CO-HEADLINE 2009 SPRING TOUR
Stage dive into spring with the Jägermeister Music Tour! Jägermeister is teaming up with legendary American punk band, Pennywise and dub rock trio, Pepper for this year’s spring Jägermeister Music Tour. The tour kicks off on April 13th in Seattle, Washington.
Pennywise (http://www.myspace.com/pennywise) is one of the most significant bands to emerge from Southern California punk’s second wave. The Pennywise current line-up, which has remained constant since 1996, consists of Jim Lindberg (vocals), Fletcher Dragge (guitar), Randy Bradbury (bass) and Byron McMackin (drums). Formed in 1988 in Hermosa Beach, California, Pennywise have released nine-full length studio albums, one live album, two extended plays and one DVD. Their most recent studio album is Reason to Believe, which was released to over 500,000 fans for free through a limited-time offering from their new label, MySpace Records. The critically acclaimed album was also sold physically and digitally the world over. The Western World, the first single from this watershed album, became the most successful single of the band’s storied career.
Pepper will rejoin the Jägermeister Music Tour once again to feature their fifth studio album Pink Crustaceans and Good Vibrations and to support their forthcoming live release, Kona Gold, due in April 2009. Both albums exemplify the band at their most eclectic and capture the essence of the Kona Boys decade of exploits living on the mainland, while exposing them as seasoned veterans of rock. Pink Crustaceans and Good Vibrations is the band’s first endeavor under the umbrella of LAW Records, their own record label, in association with Controlled Substance Sound Labs/MRI distribution. The forthcoming live album, Kona Gold, reunites the band with surf/skate vanguard Volcom Entertainment for the latest release which features Pepper live in August of 2009 at Boulder, Colorado’s intimate Fox Theatre. The Pepper trio consists of Bret Bollinger (vocals/bass), Kaleo Wassman (vocals/guitar) and Yesod Williams (drums/vocals).
Pepper has sold over 400,000 records independently and enjoyed two top 20 singles- Give it Up –(Dirty Hot Sex) from 2002’s Kona Town, and No Control from 2007’s No Shame. Their music has appeared in many movies, television and video game soundtracks and they have a number of album tracks appearing on the Billboard “Hot Modern Rock Tracks” chart.
“I grew up listening to Pennywise in Kona because they would always be featured on Taylor Steele surf videos,” says Yesod Williams, drummer for Pepper. “It was our soundtrack we’d listen to while heading to the beach. Co-headlining this tour with them is a milestone, then you get Jägermeister involved and the party will never end!”
“After 15 years of paying for Jägermeister shots, it will be nice to finally get a couple on the house” said Fletcher Dragge, guitarist for Pennywise.
“Jägermeister is thrilled to be once again to be working with Pepper,” said Bill Henderson, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for the Sidney Frank Importing Company. “Having both Pennywise and Pepper on the same bill is something we’ve been dreaming about for a long time.”
The Tour will rock through the end of May and each show will be rounded out with a local Jägermeister sponsored band. On the road since 2002, The Jägermeister Music Tour, now produced by GMR Entertainment, has become THE rock show to see. For less than $30 a ticket, fans not only have the opportunity to experience a great show, but also have a chance to snag some great Jägermeister prizes and giveaways like JägerMusic compilation CDs, as well as plenty of Jägermeister shirts, hats and more. Other prizes provided by Tour sponsors include custom items from Schecter Guitars, and Peavey Electronics and JVC Mobile Entertainment.*
The Jägermeister Music Tour will be advertised in print and on radio.

EX DEO: Studio Blog Posted!
EX DEO, the new band featuring KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono, is currently heavily at work on their debut album with producer/guitarist J-F Dagenais. Iacono recently started a weekly studio blog on the EX DEO MySpace (www.myspace.com/exdeo) which will last until mid-March. Every week the blog will also include a section called "do you know Rome?", that will give an historic fact about the Roman Empire. Iacono offered the following update:
"The album is musically complete and tracking has been in the works for the last few weeks. Drums are almost done and on Monday I fly to Montreal to lay down the Roman law and track some vocals!
I’ve been a fan of history all of my life but the last few years I’ve really been studying ancient Rome's rise and fall. I have to say it’s by far the most impressive subject I’ve ever studied. I'm totally addicted to it and its glory, its power, its weaknesses and its passion. I wanted to do this project for many years, but was never ready and the timing was all wrong. I never thought I could do it justice either but I'm ready now. The urge finally took over and I feel its power calling me and almost driving me crazy.
Now that I hear these symphonies created by my boys I’m so very proud of what they have created. Now it’s my turn to do them justice! I’ll be in the studio for the next two weeks tracking vocals and working on the arrangements. This is much more complex then anything we have done with KATAKLYSM. It’s super challenging and it has opened new doors for us as songwriters. I will give everyone an update on how things are progressing shortly."
EX DEO’s debut album “Romulus” is scheduled for release June 19th (Europe) and June 30th(North America) via Nuclear Blast Records.

THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS'
'LONELY ROAD' MAKES HIGHEST CHART DEBUT EVER NO. 14 ON BILLBOARD TOP 200
No. 1 Alternative Digital Album;
First Single 'You Better Pray' is Top 20 Alternative Rock Hit;
Set to Perform 'Pen & Paper' on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE February 11
NEW YORK - Although platinum-plus Florida modern rock quartet THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS chose the title of their second Virgin Records album, LONELY ROAD, with family and friends at home in mind, the band has gathered a loyal worldwide group of fellow travelers in the last two years. Those fans' enthusiasm in the album's week of release has resulted in a No. 14 debut in national Billboard Top 200 album sales and a No. 1 Alternative digital album, making this their highest sales chart position ever.
Prior to the February 3rd release of LONELY ROAD, the lead-off single "You Better Pray" had proven itself a national hit in both the Alternative and Active Rock radio formats, with wide video exposure through FUSE, Music Choice, MTVu and MTV2, which premiered their video all day long on "Unleashed." This week, RJA will appear on ABC's late-night Jimmy Kimmel Live on Feb. 11th, performing a new single, "Pen & Paper," which was originally given away as an MP3 at Christmas to fans on the bands MySpace page. The singles overwhelming demand turned into a sales phenomenon and has since added to their over 41 million plays on Myspace (Face Down over 20 million & Your Guardian Angel reaching over 18 million). Historically, RJA's known for their dedicated and fanatical followers, which resulted in selling more than 2.1 million singles from their debut album DON'T YOU FAKE IT.
The new album, produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Daughtry, Less Than Jake, Hoobastank, P.O.D., All-American Rejects, Seether) has already been praised for its "million-dollar hooks," "flat-out perfection," and "bold, fearless vocals" (Alternative Press).
And, true to RJA's enduring hits "Face Down" and "Your Guardian Angel," the hallmark of LONELY ROAD's lyrics are the band's incisive and truthful observations about true-to-life encounters and relationships in settings of family ("Lonely Road"), the battleground and its aftermath ("Godspeed," "Pleads and Postcards"), and the hometowns everyone will recognize. "We want to blow people away with these new songs," lead singer Ronnie Winter said recently. "It's a bit of a risk, a little departure, but it's still Red Jumpsuit."
RJA's Virgin Records debut, DON'T YOU FAKE IT, debuted in August 2006 at No. 25 on the Billboard Top 200, and ended its 62-week album chart run in October 2007.

Candlelight announces CIII label tour 2009
Candlelight Records today announces its third label packaged tour for North America. Set to kick off on June 6, CIII will feature the talents of US black metal legends Absu, with support coming from France's Glorior Belli, Austin-based Averse Sefira and Los Angeles-based Sothis. The tour will visit 22 cities throughout the US and Canada beginning in San Marcos, California and wrapping up in Dallas, Texas on June 29. Tickets for all shows go on sale exclusively at Enterthevault.com today. Tickets will go on sale through all local and online ticket agencies starting March 5.
Absu's self-titled new album hits stores nationwide February 24. Currently featured on the cover of Metal Maniacs the album is the first to offer new material from the highly regarded metal band in nearly eight years. The Texas-based band, self-described as "mythological occult metal," are a fan favorite the world over. Terrorizer Magazine calls the new album "a sound incarnate of a band making the underground amazing again… an undeniable masterpiece." This will be the band's first large-scale tour since their tour alongside Enslaved in 1997.
France's Glorior Belli make their first trip to North America as they participate on CIII. Their sophomore record, Manifesting the Raging Beast, was released in 2007 via Southern Lord Records. The band now, signed to Candlelight, will begin recording of their label debut, titled Meet Us at the Southern Sign, this month with hopes to see it released during the tour. Popular site MetalKult said in review, "Manifesting is as darkly beautiful as it is gloom inducing."
Averse Sefira join CIII continuing to support their latest album, Advent Parallax. Time Out New York notes, "black-metal lifers Averse Sefira have become a road-hardened unit, and it shows in the blistering grooves of Advent Parallax. The fourth album of the band's 12-year career has no gothic frills or weedy "kvlt" production, just eight battle-ready blasts jammed with parched-throat howls, scything guitar riffs, blistering drums and hooks that stick." Their participation on the tour is their third national tour in two years having previously toured with labelmates 1349 in 2007 and with friends Immolation in early 2008.
Sothis released their debut, De Oppresso Liber, on September 2. Mixed by Andy LaRocque (King Diamond), the record has enjoyed growing and consistent sales since release. This will be the band's first national tour. Canada's popular Brave Words Bloody Knuckles magazine says, "behold the next big black metal band." The band is currently completing work on their first video from De Oppresso Liber for the album's title track.
CIII follows the success of Candlelight's previous label tours – the first in 2005 featuring Entombed, Crowbar, Pro-Pain & The Mighty Nimbus, and second in 2007 featuring Enslaved, Dark Funeral and then newcomers Abigail Williams. The label, maintaining offices in Philadelphia and London, continues to grow since launching American operations in 2001. Candlelight is distributed throughout the US exclusively via Caroline Distribution, EMI Music for Canada and Plastichead Music for the rest of the world.
