TV Dinner Volume Two

Save Your Generation Records

Release Date: August 21, 2015

I’ve always loved the idea of the 4-way split 7”. To me compilations tend to be a drag with too much filler or bands I don’t care to listen to. This record is shows exactly why the 4-way split is perfect. Save Your Generation has brought us 4 solid songs that all fit together, but allow each band to have their own identity.

Lawnmower’s “Straight Lines” is punkier than most of the material on Major Head Injury. It’s a fuzzy pop punk masterpiece with a keyboard riff towards the end that reminds me of “Don’t Hate Me” by The Get Up Kids.

Viewfinder’s “Running From the Ground” is a downcast spacy emo jam that moves along at a pretty good clip. It borders on shoegaze, but to me it has too much pace for staring at ones shoes.

Totally Slow’s “Everybody Give Up” is a pop-punk number that is driven by an acoustic guitar. It’s a snarly jam from a band not afraid to shows their teeth.

Saving the best for last the split closes with Teahead’s country-punk jam “Lately”. I’m a sucker for honkey piano and “Lately” is littered with it.

This has been pressed on multi-color vinyl. If you are looking for a way to expand your record collection without shrinking your bank account too much TV Dinner Volume Two is a solid pickup.
