Mayday Parade
A Lesson In Romantics

From the state that brought us SAVATAGE and ICED EARTH comes…. Emo?? Yep, that’s right, MAYDAY PARADE who originate from Tallahassee, FL are 4 kids who have, with their debut album “A Lesson In Romantics”, practically perfected the art of Emo/Pop Rock. Granted, it’s nothing we haven’t heard before, but frankly any dearth of originality to be found on the album is more than made up for with the sheer sophistication and quality of the recording. If you don’t find yourself enjoying the fantastic songwriting and irresistible melodies showcased on this album, then frankly buddy, there’s somethin’ wrong with you.

Each and every track on this album has the potential to become a hit single should it hit the airwaves. And likely it shall, as the band has been quite aggressive in touring and promoting their new material. They were a part of the 2007 Vans Warped Tour and will be featured on the Warped Tour 2007 compilation CD, and were listed as one of Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need to Know 2007”, as well as having a song ("Three Cheers for Five Years") featured on the compilation CD series "Punk Goes Acoustic 2". So yeah, the band’s busy making themselves heard and are receiving quite a bit of well deserved accolade for their efforts. “A Lesson In Romantics” may be the first you’ve heard of MAYDAY PARADE but I can assure you it wont be the last. Poised to dominate the pop-rock airwaves, these guys sound like their in it for the long haul.

Bottom Line: Both melancholic and exuberant, trendy and sophisticated, “A Lesson In Romantics” sounds more like a lesson in pop-rock success. Emo doesn’t deserve the bad rep it has gotten. How can you not enjoy this? A must have for fans of bands like FALLOUT BOY, SUM 41, GOOD CHARLOTTE, ASTERIA and BOYS LIKE GIRLS.

Key Tracks: “Jamie All Over”; “Black Cat”; “Jersey”; “Take This To Heart”; “Champagne’s For Celebrating (I’ll Have a Martini)”; “When I Get Home You’re So Dead”
