Nick Oliveri and the Mondo Generator
Dead Planet: Sonicslowmotiontrails

Former Queens of the Stone Age member, Nick Oliveri has created a very raw, unbridled, passionate album. One part Nine Inch Nails, one part Manson, and two parts powerful vocals. Throw in a dash of Jack Daniels and you will have a new drink that I am going to call the Martini from Hell, do not withhold the Oliveri.

Lame metaphor's aside (or was that just a pun?) this album is great. If I ever had a chance to see these guys in concert I would definitely go! Oliveri’s overpowering passion for his craft reaches out of your speakers and slaps you in the face, then while you are squirming on the floor it boots you in the head. More then one song on this album makes me want to jump on my skate board/bmx/dirt bike and go balls out.

“Dead Planet” also features three cover songs. Nick and the Generator take on the Ramones, Mental Hell. and, Johnny Cash's, Sam Hall. Johnny Cash? Oh yeah, I think he did Johnny proud.

Grab a drink and rock out to Like a Bomb, All Systems Go and Lie Detector, then see if you can get up and walk away. Uou will probably need to call a cab, or a rescue squad.
