Warped Tour
Post Gazette Pavilion, Pittsburgh PA

We all know of Warped Tour as being the number one festival for all your favorite bands on the punk scene for more than ten years. Well, Warped Tour ’07 had a lot more to offer. Names like Killswitch Engage and As I Lay Dying made appearances adding a metallic blend to this year’s festivities.

When Killswitch Engage went on, the crowd was throwing shirts, shoes, water, and Gatorade. They also blew up condoms for the performance of “To End The Heartache”. It was great. The band was a perfect addition along with As I Lay Dying.
I didn’t really think metal would go well for Warped but I was wrong. Having metal
Added the Red Pepper to my spaghetti if you know what I mean. It really made the audience twice as large.

With additions like this, it more or less “improved” the tour. Also by having a hundred bands, you had a wide selection to choose from if you didn’t like some of the performers. Sure you had Circa Survive, Paramore, and Ska bands like the Toasters, but the metal influence was a great addition and should be considered for the future.
To tell you the truth, having metal on Warped attracted many more types of fans making the festival itself larger than life. This year hands down had to be one of the best.
